The Rugbuddies set of eight toys is so easy to build thatyou will find yourself making several sets for the children inyour life. We’ve found that the little kids will latch ontothese and insist on taking their Rugbuddy everywhere withthem – even to bed!

The personality and size of each toy is ideal for smallchildren, and the soft and rounded edges make for safe andenjoyable play.

We’ve found that standard whitewood lumber found atany lumber supply is perfect for these little guys. Theeconomy grades of wood work great if the knots are solid.

By sanding the surfaces and edges smooth you can makethe most basic piece of wood look quite beautiful with knotsand all! Be experimental with wood types – even the finerfurniture grade particle boards make a great toy material.

We primed our toys with a white latex wall paint andwhen dry sanded it smooth. On this prepared surface webrushed on the bright glossy latex enamels. The end result ismarvelous. And the children squeal when they see thebright colors. We used a dipping procedure to add thesecond colors you see in the photos above. The enamelsneed to be thinned with water for this technique.
