MAKE SAFETY A DAILY HABIT!
Here are the top ten tips ...
Never take lifts from strangers! Get into the car of
known people who your parents approve. Even
then ,let your mum or dad know who you are with.
Always be aware of what is going on around
you. You can avoid many harmful and unsafe
situations by being aware of
your surroundings! Take off
your earphones; don't
compromise your safety just
to look cool.
Kids, you do not need to carry
name brand stuff or loads of
money on you, especially
when you go out with just your
friends. People are always
watching and no matter what you think, you are
not invincible!
Whenever you think you are in danger
you can simply shout for help. Almost
always, people who are in the vicinity will
respond positively to your cry for help..
There is no harm in shouting and no one
will think twice that a kid has screamed
unnecessarily.
Know what is happening around you. If there is too
much unrest and any signs of a mob or a crowd-
fight, just leave. Don't panic in a situation, such as
a fire or an earthquake. Just follow instructions
and move in an orderly fashion.
1. TRAVEL only in known vehicles
2. BE AWARE of your surroundings
3. Carry only WHAT IS
NEEDED
4. SCREAM for help
5. Be ALERT
To win a chance for you and a friend to see a movie in style.. answer this question and fill in the details alongside. Submit your entry by 22nd September 2014 .
Q: The crocodile species is believed to have been around for how long? 2 million years or 200 million years?
A: ................................................
6. Show BRAVERY
7. KEEP IN TOUCH with near and dear
9. BE CAREFUL in water
10. NEVER WALK ALONE
If you think you are being stalked or followed, do
not panic. Be calm and composed and see that
you reach a place that has enough people
around so that you can ask for help.
Kids should always carry the PHONE numbers
and addresses of their parents or guardians. This
can be of timely help
especially if you are lost in a
crowd.
of strangers
This should be strictly
followed by kids that they
never ever talk to an
unknown person. In fact, they
may appreciate the child's
safety sense that the kid is
showing ample maturity in
this regard.
Kids need to know the basic dangers of
water and what to do and what not to do
with water. Swimming pools and
seashores are the main places that have
proved fatal due to lack of personal
safety by kids and their guardians.
Kids should always play or walk in groups, so
that if in trouble, there is someone else to help
you out of the situation. What's more, you are not
exposed to dangers of kidnapping for ransom by
stalkers and thieves.

RecipeEggless chocolate
mug cake
Ingredients
Method:
Serves: 1
4 tablespoons plain flour2 1/2 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder4 tablespoons sugar1/2 tablespoons baking powder7 tablespoons Coca Cola
Mix all ingredients together into an over-sized mug. This cake rises a lot so if you don't have a very large mug, I suggest you split the mixture into two mugs after mixing. Mix with a small whisk until no lumps remain. For one oversized mug, microwave for 1 1/2 minutes. The cake should have a dry surface and the knife inserted should come out clean. You may want to reduce the time for two smaller mugs.Tip--This cake rises a lot so watch out.

Disney makes the best movies for any
age, anytime. An all time favourite,
"The Love Bug" is one such classic.
The story about a race car that feels
and has moods is such an unusual
concept. The original movie was
released in 1968, and has since been
retold a few times...the latest starring
Lindsay Lohan in "Herbie". Even if you
have seen the latest movie...the old
ones are a classic that can be viewed
again and again.

TEAM BUILDING ACTIVITIES
Unity is the biggest strength of any institution.
This value was evident when the team
building activities were performed by the
students of Classes VI & VII under the
guidance of PTIs. The students
were given many challenging
tasks to do and all of them
participated whole- heartedly.
Their enthusiasm and the spirit
to win made the atmosphere
lively and vivacious. It proved a
great exercise to instill the
value of discipline as well.
INVESTITURE CEREMONY
Elections of the office bearers were
completed with the Investiture Ceremony on
23rd July, 2014. This event was covered in
three phases and office bearers were
selected democratically. Students from
Classes VIII upwards voted for the candidates
and chose the office bearers.
Splash NewsVinayak Mehta was selected as the
Headboy of the school and Madhulika
Handoo was selected as the Headgirl.
Gursimran Singh was selected as the Sports
Captain and Aarti Khanna was selected as the
Sports Vice Captain . Badges were also handed
over to the captains, prefects and monitors of
different houses by the Principal. The students
took the oath to carry out responsibilities with
sincerity, dedication, hard work and honesty.
The Principal congratulated and encouraged
the office bearers to use their leadership skills to
the maximum and help to bring out the positive
changes in the school.
Holiday HW display
Summer vacations are enjoyed by one and all
but vacations are always accompanied with the
Summer Holiday Home work. This year also
the students were given very interesting topics
for HHW. Classes VI & VII displayed their
holiday projects Housewise and each House
was given marks on the basis of the content,
quality and the presentation. HHW helps to
arouse the curiosity of the students on a given
topic and aid them to use their creativity to the
maximum.
SCIENCE EXHIBITION
Dr. Abdul Kalam did not become a scientist
in one day. Since his childhood, he observed
his surroundings carefully and simply tried to
reflect on the changes he noticed. The
Pinnaclites are also given the opportunity to
showcase their scientific aptitude and skills in
the Science Exhibition. The budding scientists
of Classes IV - VIII participated and displayed
excellent projects, experiments and
demonstrations based on various concepts of
Science.
When you see a flock of sheep, have you
noticed a peculiar thing about it? In the flock,
there is no leader; yet the sheep always follow
the one who walks in front. It appears as if the
first sheep is leading the group.
Unlike sheep, human beings are different in
attitude, capabilities and nature . In spite of all of
these differences, almost all of us accept
whatever comes our way.
So what is the solution? We need to have a Head
that can lead and show us the path to progress.
Someone one who does not dictate but works on
the principle of consensus. Someone whose
actions resolves conflicts and motivates the
weaker ones.
As Mother
Teresa said, “You can do what I cannot do; I cannot do what you can do. Together we can do
great things.”
The Pinnacle School prides itself on its
Leadership Programmes. All students are given
the opportunity to become involved in building up
their leadership potential, whether as a Captain,
Vice-Captain, Monitor or even as the Head Boy
or Head Girl of the School.
Remember... the difference
between a Boss and a Leader is, a Boss says
“go” and a Leader says “Let's go”.
WE REMEMBER
ARHAM HUSSAIN
Our student of Class VIII C who
suddenly passed away on 04.07.14.
Arham was a friend to all and a
wonderful person. We miss his
cheerful presence everyday and
extend our deepest condolences to
his family on their bereavement.
Arham will always be remembered at
The Pinnacle School.
