T HE E DIFIER Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and the things wherewith one may edify another(Rom. 14:19) Walnut Street Church of Christ Volume 49 October 6, 2019 Number 41 2019 Walnut Street, one week from this Sunday night we will launch our Community Impact Series: “When Life Happens…”. This week we’ve shared an invitation with all the residents in the 37055 area. You know as well as I do this event is open for all and the invitation extends as far as you are willing to invite and encourage those you know to come and be with us. You’ve likely seen the invitation on our Walnut Street Facebook page. If you’re a member of the Facebook community and want to share this invitation, you can simply copy the picture and post it on your personal page, or you can share the invitation from someone’s personal page. Whatever the case, spread this word and let your friends and neighbors know, they are welcome and wanted among our number. John’s gospel is often referred to as “the gospel of belief.” The evidences and markers of our Lord’s identity are shown throughout this great work. One of the most beautifully illustrated scenes of our Lord’s ministry is found through the prop of a young man’s lunch. It began with a question, “Where shall we buy bread that these may eat” (John 6:5). Though the response found its way to a young man’s “five loaves and two small fish” still another question was posed, “What are they among so many?” The answer is between the questions. Part of our effort may seem small in the midst of a vast sea of struggles, hardships, and life challenges. Yet the power must not be seen in us or what we have to offer. Rather we must be willing to use what is in our hand and possession, even if it seems insignificant, to be used for the glory and goodness of God. Rarely (let’s face it, never) do we see all that God can do in any moment, not even moment as planned and prayed for as the one beginning October 13, at 5 pm. But that is again the reason why the answer is once more found between these two questions. John 6:6 is the answer: “for He Himself knew what He would do”. Our Lord knows what He will do with the willing hearts of Walnut Street. He knows what He will do with the willing hearts who come seeking His help and healing. He knows what He will do when it comes to our fear of what to do. He will be our Lord, our guide, and our deliverer in every storm of life. Pray for our event. Plan to invite others to come and share each evening beginning October 13, at 5 pm. Be confident, the Lord knows what He will do…are we willing to be ready for Him to use us? 2019

Walnut Street, one week from this Sunday night we will launch our Community Impact Series: “When Life Happens…”.

Though the response found its way to a

young man’s “five loaves and two small fish” still another question was posed, “What are they among so many?” The answer is between the questions.

    Welcome New Member:

Note of Thanks: On behalf of my entire family I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the beautiful flowers, memorial donations, cards, texts, thoughts, prayers and kind words extended to us after the death of our beloved Robbie. From the moment I reached out to Ted Williams our home was bombarded with love. Thank you to the wonderful women of Walnut Street for all of the food. It was truly a blessing. Thank you to the men of Walnut Street that took care of my yard, took off trash, traveled to Camden to collect Robbie’s personal items or just simply called to make sure our needs were met. This has been by far the hardest thing I have ever encountered in my life but have been comforted by so many. Last but definitely not least to Bryan and Steve. There are no words that I could express to convey how appreciative our family is to both of you for the wonderful service conducted for Robbie. Walnut Street Church of Christ love has no bounds, as we have

    witnessed and can surely attest.
