Chennai Bhajanamandali , Tendulkar, Dr. Capt, Hathe,

    Vaman Narvekar.

    ********************************

    Chennai Bhajanamandali:

In 1916, a family of four from Chennai went on a pilgrimage to Kashi. On the way, they heard of Sai’s fame and visited Shirdi hoping to get money from Baba. But, the lady of the group showed pure devotion and thereby, got Baba’s darshan in the form of Rama. Her husband mocked at her for this but that night, Baba came on his dream. In the dream, the man was in jail and pleaded with Baba to get him out. Baba tricked him into killing the guard and teased him that he is going to be severely punished for this act. When the man pleaded for His mercy, Baba released him from the cell and convinced him of His greatness with various acts and teachings. Thus, the man realized his mistake and bowed to Baba. The next day, Baba blessed his family and made him stay for a few more days. He did not give them much money but His blessings earned him enough money to complete his pilgrimage.

    Tendulkar Family:

There was a pious lady by name SavithriBai who lived in Bhandhra. She had composed about 800

poems on Baba known as Sainath Bhajanmala. Baba blessed her son to pass his medical exams despite the boy’s lack of effort and belief. Baba also blessed her husband to retire with a good pension amount.

    Captain Hathe:

One Capt. Hathe who lived in Bikaneer was a staunch devotee of Baba. Baba once came on his dreams to remind him not to forget Him. Capt. Hathe also dreamt that he had arranged to send enough beans to cook for Baba and some dhakshina. The next day he sent Rs. 12 to a friend asking him to go to Shirdi and offer beans curry and offer dakshina to Baba. When the friend did the same, Baba specifically asked for the beans curry and ate it with love. Another time, when Capt. Hathe wanted to get a coin from Baba’s hands to keep it in the altar, and sent such a coin through one of his friends. Baba lovingly received the coin and gave it back to the friend along with some udhi.

    Vaman Narvekar:

Once, a gentleman named Vaman Narvekar wanted a Ram, sita, Hanuman silver coin to be blessed by Baba. But, Baba received the coin and kept it in His pocket and demanded Rs.25 as dakshina When Vaman somehow collected the amount and gave it to Baba, Sai pocketed that also and instructed Shama to keep the coin in the sansthan. Why He did it and for what purpose, no one knows.

Saiamrutham — “Don't think that God has left you because He is silent. How can He leave you, when He is the one who brought you to this world? ”

The Tale of Two Sankes ***************************

There was a King called Haridutta in a far away land. He had a son, the crown Prince. Even though the Prince ate a lot, he was lean and was becoming weaker day by day. Well known physicians could not make him well and the King was very frustrated all the time. Seeing the King sad, made the Prince also very unhappy and one day he left the palace and went to a nearby kingdom and started living in a temple eating the food the people gave as alms.

The King of that country had two daughters. He brought them up real wise and courageous. Every day the Princesses will bow to their father, the King and the elder one would say, "O Father, all joys of the world is bestowed upon us only with your blessings", and the younger one would say, "O King, one gets the fruits for what is destined by their actions". One day, the King got very wild and told his Minister to leave his second daughter in marriage to any one they first meet the next day and let her enjoy the fruits of her actions. As fate would have it, the Minister and the soldiers met the runaway Prince in the temple and married off the Princess and returned to their palace. The Princess was very calm and took good care of her husband. As they could not make the temple their home, they left in search of a home and a livelihood.

While the weak Prince took rest under a tree, the Princess went to fetch some food and water. When she returned, she saw an astonishing sight. A snake had emerged from the Prince's mouth and was speaking to another snake in an anthill nearby. The anthill snake chastised the Prince's snake for robbing the Prince's life and health slowly and told that if anybody would pour cumin and mustard soup in the Prince's stomach, the snake would die. The Prince's snake immediately told the other snake that he too would die if anybody poured hot water and hot oil in the anthill and that he is guarding the two pots of gold unnecessarily, which is of no use to him. The wise Princess immediate-ly made a soup of cumin and mustard and fed the Prince. The snake inside the stomach died and slowly the Prince gained back his strength. She then told him of the pots of gold and they poured hot water and oil and killed the snake and took the pots of gold. The Prince went back to his kingdom with the Princess and lived happily.

    MORAL OF THE STORY **************************

Being open and calm in any challenge that life throws at you, makes you a winner in the end.

    PATIENCE & AHIMSA

    ***********************

It is said that Patience is one of the most important virtues, may be because it is not that easy to attain it. It takes a lot of practice and patience to get there! Ahimsa is another one. Ahimsa is not just about having a vegetarian diet. It is about not hurting any other living being with thought, word, or deed. Both Patience and Ahimsa will happen only if there is love and compassion in the heart.

Once when Mahatma Gandhiji was in prison, one of the jailors who did not like him, kicked Gandhiji on his face while he was meditating. Gandhiji held the jailor’s legs and apologized to him saying that, “My teeth may have hurt you when you kicked, I am so sorry for hurting you”. Only then the jailor realized his goodness and he apolo-gized to Mahatma. He also asked Gandhiji why he did not get mad at him when he kicked him. Mahatma said that Ahimsa means not to hurt the other person in any way at any time, and so he was patient.

Ahimsa does not happen without Patience, and Patience does not happen without love and compassion. We do not hurt those whom we love. The same love we have for our loved ones, our family, our friends etc. should expand little by little and it should eventually cover the whole world. This is why we say Love is God and God is Love.

Let us strive to spread our wings of Love and extend it to every living being in this world.

    *** GOD BLESS ***
