Businesses Perceptions of Today’s Teens “Today’s teens are more interested in FB,

Twitter, and Instagram than talking with someone face to face.”

“Today’s teens are lazy and irresponsible.” “Today’s teens lack the basic writing skills

necessary to be effective in the work place.” “Today’s teens struggle to think for

themselves and solve problems.” “Today’s teens cannot be counted on

because they are either late or don’t show up.”

Class Discussion Think: Reflect on your own behavior in

comparison to what businesses are saying about today’s teens. Are they right or wrong? Prove it.

Pair: Chat with a partner about what businesses are saying about teen workers. Do you feel they are justified?
