Fall Prevention Plan

1. Responsibilities from the Fall Prevention Plan for Area and Site Managers and coordinators, HSE representatives, Subcontractors, Workers were revised and reminded to site coordinators and engineers.

2. Responsibilities from the Fall Prevention Plan for Working at Height Equipment and PPE users were reminded to all working teams and foremen for Tower Assembly, Painting, Erection and Conductor Stringing.

Fall Prevention Plan

1. The emergency contact numbers of engineers, components of the rescue team were update in the Emergency Rescue Procedure in Romanian and English, for each and new teams for Tower Erection and Conductor Stringing of Electromontaj and subcontractors.

2. The individualized Emergency Rescue Procedures has on the back side the components of the rescue kit and it is kept inside the rescue kit’s bag, under the responsibility of the foreman of every team.

A number of 25 new full body harnesses, double lanyards with hooks and positioning lanyards were purchased from Foreshore and Bridgeway Companies in Mussafah, also new PPE, such as coverall, safety shoes, helmets were replaced.

All the existing PPE for working at height (full body harness, double lanyards and positioning lanyards) were collected from site and sent for Third Party Inspection to South-West Certification Services.

Site manager and site coordinators/engineers were tested regarding the working and rescue proceduresThe 15 Question HSE Quiz was submitted after

the office and site trainings to all the workers and foremen for all the activities on site as a feedback of the training and reinstruct the personnel in case of low scoring.

HSE Quizzes and Practical ExamSite examination of the Rescue from Height Procedure

The “victim” remains suspended and calls for help and the rest of the team starts the emergency rescue procedure conducted by the foreman and supervised by the site engineer in charge of the activity.

The rescuer reaches the “victim” and after attaching safety on his harness and rope, cuts the victims lanyard and takes the load easily with no shocks on his harness.

The rescuer brings the “victim” on ground were the two helpers take him easy and gradually on the ground to any prevent suspension trauma or other injuries.

The rescuer from height procedure was supervised by the site engineer in charge of the activity and HSE Engineer ticked on the rescue procedure checklist every step of the procedure and if the procedure was able to be made in less then 10 minutes.

HSE Quizzes and Practical ExamSite examination of the Rescue from Height Procedure

The best teams from Tower Erection and Conductor Stringing activities, who followed correctly all the steps of the rescue procedures and rescued the victim in less then 10 minutes received Winner Diplomas for the best rescue from height team and a price of 500 DHS for each team.

Preventive Medical Check-upRomanian doctors from Occupational Health Department

Romanian Doctors from Occupational Health Department came to Abu Dhabi office and site camps and performed medical check-up for all personnel.

Doctors performed psychological evaluation, tests for the blood pressure, blood sugar, EKG, also performed vision, respiratory and ENT check-up.

The Working At Height personnel who was found with high blood pressure, high blood sugar and other problem that can suspend the ability to work at height were transported to Mirfa or Madinat Zayed Hospital for immediate treatment.

All the medical certificates for the Working At Height personnel were renewed and enclosed in the HSE File of each individual.

Site Inspections and SanctionsWorking at Height Checklists and Zero Tolerance

Specific Checklist for Working at height for the Tower Erection and Conductor Stringing activities were issued by the HSE Engineers.

The work locations were inspected more often by the site and HSE engineers verifying the activity with the Tower Erection and Working at Height Checklists.

Site managers and coordinators reinstruct the site engineers and site supervisors the is ZERO TOLERANCE regarding HSE for working at height and applied fines of 50 Dollars for each person who will not follow the HSE requirements on site.
