on June 30th, President Obama and Secretary of Labor Perez released a 295-page Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM), seeking public comments on proposed changes to the “white collar” overtime exemption regulations. With these rules triggering some of the most significant changes to the workforce in nearly 50 years, CHA, in collaboration with the Nebraska Hospital Association, will be providing this educational webinar to its member hospitals regarding how this may affect their operations. Analysts anticipate that nearly every employer in the nation—including many hospitals—will be affected by the U.S. Department of Labor’s (DOL) proposed revisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime exemptions. These new rules will impact not only how employers classify their exempt and non-exempt employees, but also bottom line profits for an organization. Employee claims for unpaid overtime continue to be the most significant employment liability risk for employers. The revised overtime regulations coming out of Washington could trigger more liability and confusion for employers across the country. This webinar will be led by Tammy McCutchen, former DOL Wage and Hour Administrator. She is now an attorney at the Littler Workplace Policy Institute® in Washington, DC, but previously was the principal at DOL who drafted the FLSA while collar exemptions the last time overtime rules were revised in 2004. She will be joined in leading the webinar by Littler WPI Co-Chair and former Chairman of the Board of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) National, Michael J. Lotito.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

• Discuss how might the salary test change, under DOL’s revised rules.• Describe what will happen to the duties test.• Explain how healthcare organizations will be impacted, and what organization leaders

should do now.
