The AGE Health & Safety Policy works together with our values, principles, Code of Conduct and imple-mented laws of each country we work in. Our goal is to create a better quality of life for everyone that works within our network.
Statement of intent

We consider all types of physical and psychological damage, to our employees and clients, a risk. To mitigate this risk we:
• Identify, control and remove practices and conditions that pose a risk to our employees and clients
• Provide protective clothing and equipment, where applicable
• Provide clear instructions, and adequate training, to ensure employees are safe and qualified to fulfil their responsibilities

• Develop and regularly practice emergency proce-dures, including evacuation processes in case of fire or other significant incident
• Create and participate in external Health & Safety forums and networks
• Provide Health & Safety certification to our employees

• Take into account employee suggestions and review the policy regularly
• Abide by local laws regarding the protection of personal data

• Provide adequate facilities with clean toilets, clean drinking water and hygienic eating areas
• Provide access to basic health care to our employ-ees, if this is not provided elsewhere
• Prevent cases of work-related ill health and accidents
• Consult employees on matters that affect their health and safety
• Offer healthier lifestyle choices - provide an example through our canteens and events

AGE will work with members to ensure that every-one is adhering to this policy and local laws. Where required internal measures will be taken to ensure compliance.
• Provide appropriate training
• Research potential risks and apply preventive mea-sures to mitigate these risks
• Provide guidance and assistance in identifying, eval-uating and correcting health and safety hazards
• Ensure workstations comply with Health & Safety standards

• Inform employees of all risks and how to manage risks
• Ensure safety plans and procedures for emergencies are in place
• Take responsibility for your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions
• Participate in training programs arranged by man-agement and obey rules provided
• Be aware of possible risks and report them to man-agement immediately

Any injury that occurs during the course of an employ-ee’s duties must be reported to the employee’s man-ager, and the required procedures should be followed.
Employee’s may not make any claim against the em-ployer for damages, if the injury is a result of:
• His/her, or any other employee’s, negligence
• Failure to comply with the safety regulations or any other instructions given to the employee while on duty
Every employee is required to report incidents, situa-tions and/or hazards within the workplace which can be a potential health and safety risk.
Every incident and accident reported, will be investi-gated.
What to do in case of injury and incapacity

All workstations should have easy access to first aid equipment and every employee must have basic first aid training to know what to do in case of an emergency.
Any accident or injury outside work that may impact the employee’s ability, or availability, to perform their normal duties, must be reported to the employee’s manager.

AGE ,and their members, have a duty to inform all their employees of possible risks within the workplace and what they should do in case of emergencies. Em-ployees should also be trained on the correct usage of protective equipment.
AGE will create Health & Safety collateral for all mem-bers to share with their employees and if necessary a set of Health & Safety guidelines will also be created.
