Works in your areaBorlase Reserve site establishment Drysdale Street, Yallambie From 29 July

We're progressing with Stage 2 of the Borlase Reserve site establishment which will support service relocations within and around the reserve. This will include:

• Construction of haul roads accompanied by a temporary creek crossing to move materials and traffic within the site

• New entrance and exit for the haul road accessible via Drysdale Street

• Removal of vegetation at Borlase Reserve will take place from late July 2020 and take up to two weeks, and will be supervised by an arborist and a wildlife handler. Further removal will take place from mid-August 2020.

During these works, trucks and excavators will be working to clear the area to lay crushed rock and layered materials for the haul roads. There will be an increase in construction vehicles in the area and more frequent deliveries to the site compound at Drysdale Street. Traffic management will be in place during works to guide drivers through the area.

Construction of temporary opening of Borlase Street Lower Plenty Road, Yallambie From 29 July

Following community consultation, we will open Borlase Street to support access for local residents when works impact the street.

Borlase Street will be temporarily opened for two-way access at Lower Plenty Road strictly for residents, emergency services and local service providers. The road will be reinstated to it's former state as a cul de sac after the works have been completed.

Construction of temporary off-street resident car park Drysdale Street, between Greensborough Road and Borlase Street, Yallambie From 29 July for up to two weeks

• A temporary car park will be constructed off Drysdale Street for residents to use during times when access into Borlase Street may be restricted by construction work.

• Access to Drysdale Street will be closed from Greensborough Road for one or two days between Monday 27 July and Monday 10 August. During this time, vehicle access to Borlase Street and the other end of Drysdale Street will only be available via Coleen Street. A detour route will be set up on Borlase Street, Coleen Street and Lower Plenty Road.

• Traffic management will be in place near the works to safely guide motorists, pedestrians and cyclists through the area.

Service relocation works Borlase Reserve and Borlase Street, Yallambie From early August

We will be relocating a number of services in Borlase Reserve and Borlase Street which will involve:

• Digging a trench up to 5m deep and installing new pipes and drainage pits in Borlase Reserve at Lower Plenty Road behind traffic barriers.

• Installing new underground power and telecommunications infrastructure to Borlase Street properties.

• Traffic management will be provided at times when working close to the road. The footpath on Borlase Street may be closed at times and pedestrians will be detoured to the other side of the street where we are not working.

• Relocating a sewer line on the northern side of Lower Plenty Road behind traffic barriers. These works will involve digging a trench 2m to 5.5m deep in sections and laying new pipe. Trenches will be backfilled and temporarily reinstated before workers move to the next section moving north along the east side of Borlase Street.

During the sewer works there will be minimal residential vehicle access into properties in Borlase Street. Foot path access will be maintained for the duration of works along the eastern footpath.

Changed traffic conditions and shared user path closureLower Plenty Road, Yallambie From early August Sunday to Friday, 7.30pm-6am

• To allow works to be carried out safely, traffic barriers will be installed on Lower Plenty Road at the southern end of Borlase Reserve. Changed traffic conditions and reduced speed limits will be in place.

• Traffic barriers will be installed on Lower Plenty Road over five nights during the first two weeks in August. These works will require some lane closures and reduced speed on Lower Plenty Road, between Greensborough Road and Borlase Street. Work hours will be from Sunday to Friday, 7.30pm - 6am.

• The northside shared user path on Lower Plenty Road will be closed and a detour will direct pedestrians and cyclists to travel around the worksite using the south side of Lower Plenty Road and the signalised crossing at Martins Lane, Yallambie, or via Drysdale Street and Greensborough Road. Please refer to map for detour route.

After hours access at Borlase site compound As part of the Greensborough Road gas main night works that began earlier this month, site crews will be accessing the Borlase site compound on Drysdale Street. Please note the crews will be considerate of neighbours with minimal noise impacts and use low-level lighting.

Managing impacts CPB Contractors is committed to minimising construction impacts for residents and the community and will activate the following mitigation measures where appropriate:

• cover loads on trucks, when transporting excavated material and clean fill

• suppress dust by using water carts and binding agents

• use rumble grids on haul roads to reduce the transfer of dirt on local roads

• use noise control equipment and sound blankets may be used on machinery and tools

• maintaining the usual weekly residential street rubbish collection with Council waste services and any access requirements for emergency services

• install protection zones to make sure vegetation that does not need to be removed is protected.

Our community engagement team will be onsite and available to assist residents during the works. Safety is our priority and we ask for your assistance with obeying instructions, signage and maintaining social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic. In addition to this notification, we will communicate directly with impacted residents in the event traffic conditions or road access changes and if work durations are extended.

New times for Greensborough Road gas main night works Greensborough Road, between Erskine and Lower Plenty Roads

We're extending our working hours to get these night works done quicker and lessen impacts to residents and drivers.

New start times

Weeknights: 7.30pm-6am (was 8.30pm-5.30am)

Weekend nights: 7pm-8am (was 8pm-5.30am)

Traffic set up will start from 7pm each night.

These night works involve workers digging a trench in sections in the northbound slow lane along Greensborough Road.

By the end of each night shift, the trench will be covered over to allow vehicles and trucks to travel on all lanes of Greensborough Road during the day.

This process will be repeated along Greensborough Road until the new gas main pipe has been laid.
