Sending messages from children to the world

These photos were taken by children in past workshops. They chose the photographic themes by themselves, such as recovery from disaster or the right to go to school. Photography overcome linguistic barriers, and become their voices that speak out about hopes and challenges surrounding children in the society. Please feel the “moment,” experience the “feeling” of the photographer and the model, and come to know the views of children that show you a different perspective of the world.

About EYE SEEThe EYE SEE UNICEF Child Photography Workshop encourages visual literacy among children, and increases involvement in understanding and promoting positive social change. Sony has been supporting EYE SEE since 2006, and been showcasing children’ s photography and messages around the world.Using digital photography, these workshops provide a mechanism for children to present, through imagery, their views on the world, and to communicate challenges that may otherwise be difficult to share with the wider community. It also provides an opportunity to learn a new creative medium of expression, and an opportunity for social participation. The EYE SEE workshop supported by Sony brings various stories surrounding children into focus. By leveraging digital technology, Sony aims to be a part of the resolution of global issues such as ending poverty, achieving universal education, and others addressed as Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
