Why should your company use a Health Screening and Promotion Program ?

Our reports will provide you and your employees’ information on what to improve on and how to improve their

overall health. This will improve production, attendance and overall health and wellbeing of your employees. Not

only can we help with providing great detail of how their current fitness level is but we can provide the tools to

help improve their health. Your employees would take a baseline screening, we provide services and info to teach

your employee how to change their daily habits to a healthier lifestyle, we can provide quarterly screenings so

you and your employees can see that they are making changes. This helps them to understand what changes they

still need to make and motivates them to continue with the process.

Total Body Water = Intracellular Water + Extracellular Water

Dry Lean Mass = Protein and Minerals

Weight = Lean Body Mass + Body Fat mass

Use InBody to track body comp changes vs. just weight lost – want to see lean mass go up & body fat go down

Skeletal Muscle Mass (SMM) = muscle attached to bone

Muscle that is most easily affected through exercise

Body Fat Mass = total lipid mass in body, not just subcutaneous

Healthy individuals maintain a balanced ratio between Extracellular Water_(ECW) and Total Body

Water_(TBW), of about 0.380.

The normal range of ECW:TBW for healthy people ranges from 0.36 0 to 0.390. In some cases

malnutrition, aging, and obesity, may cause this ratio to exceed 0.390.

Please consult with your physician when the ration exceeds 0.400.

Athletes, or those with an excess of muscle mass, tend to have a ratio of ECW/TBW of less than 0.360.

Therefore, the ECW/TBW ratio could be a good indication of your health condition. So, this ratio needs

to be consistently monitored.

Measures LBM in different segments

Ideally want to see symmetry with right:left & lower:upper as well as ALL graphs aligned!

Can see dominance of limbs if larger

If injury, you will see shorter graph for that limb – helps with training regimes & PT recommendations

If acute injury, limb may be larger due to swelling/inflammation

Longest graph – want to see arms/legs aligned; this person has shorter torso (not enough muscle

compared to limbs) therefore want to train core more; torso accounts for 50% weight.

Graphs with optimal “100%” or mid-normal range on all graphs! (top # ideal for gender and height with

bottom % appropriate to person’s own wt.) – follow bottom graph % in obese populations.

The stronger/more muscle one has to fat, the graphs will align better.

For athletes & lean individuals, the bottom % will be longer than the top graph line.

If losing weight/LBM, can track & see where wt. is being lost (not moving/training adequately in that

area)

Evaluates whether the amount of fat is adequately distributed throughout the body. Each bar shows fat

mass in comparison to ideal.

Visceral Fat Level is determined based on the amount of muscle located in the Trunk Area.

Normal Level is a score of 10

The lower the visceral fat, the healthier the individual is.

Basal Metabolic Rate(BMR) – The most important compartment of the body, for its metabolic activity and

influence upon resting metabolic rate or basal metabolic rate, is fat-free mass or lean body mass in this case. So

the InBody uses the Cunningham equation for BMR in which FFM (or LBM) is the most critical determinant of

BMR.2 BMR = 21.6 X LBM (kg) + 370 (LBM = Lean Body Mass, kg)
