    History

    The world bank is one of the two Bretton Woods

    institutions which were created in 1944 to rebuild a

    wartorn Europe after World War II. Later largely dueto the contributions of the Marshall Plan , the World

    Bank was forced to find a new area in which to focus

    its efforts.

    The world bank is one of the worlds largest sourcesof

    funding for developing the world.

    Its primary focus is on helping the poorest people and

    the poorest countries.

    It uses its financial resources, its staffs, and extensive

    experience to help developing countries, reducepoverty increase economic growth and improve their

    quality of life.
