Several weeks have passed since an amazing event in Miami, yet it feels like only yesterday that I was up on stage in front of a packed American Airlines Arena for 2013 World Conference. The energy from the crowd and presentations was so intense — it created a powerful and synergistic momentum that’s leading to growth around the globe.

The overarching theme was that Market America | SHOP.COM is making the world a smaller place, or at least more connected so it’s easier to reach any and all parts of it no matter where you live. We’re expanding customer base and prospect potential through revolutionary new technology and programs, in addition to global unifi cation within the business model.

The Emerging Markets Program, GLOBAL.SHOP.COM, Partner Now/Waiting Room, MeetON.com, the new unfranchise.com, UnFranchise Mobile and the shopping annuity are all game-changers. In fact, these developments will facilitate the company’s evolution into a completely new game.

We are not the same company and we’re not the same opportunity we were when we fi rst started out over 20 years ago. We’re newer, fresher and better — because we’ve been working hard to refi ne our business and make it simpler. We started out as a means to create economic freedom; now, we’re literally creating our own economy! Other companies don’t come close to offering the same opportunity we do. You were the fi rst to hear about how MeetON.com will be an extension to the NMTSS — facilitating online meetings and business growth in all areas, from the comfort of your own home.

Those in attendance were also the fi rst to hear about Amber Ridinger’s brand-new revolutionary skincare line, Lumière de Vie™, along with the new TLS® Find Your Fit 2013 Spring Challenge, awarding $75,000 in cash! We announced some major mobile updates, including the huge news that unfranchise.com is now available on mobile.

All in all, this was an event of epic proportions, with some of the biggest releases we’ve ever unveiled. There was so much information packed into one long weekend that it may seem a bit overwhelming to try and digest it all at once. Therefore, it’s so important to remember to keep your daily focus on the basic things that build a business, as you become more familiar with the other stuff.

A simple strategy to ensure success:1. Use and share the products2. Introduce the business3. Sell the education (tickets)4. Work in the homes

Don’t make this business any harder than it really is. Everything we’re doing, all the new developments, are anchored to these four basic principles. We’re just using technology and new systems to make your growth and success easier and faster, on a much grander scale.

I have people tell me all the time that they’re going to take the Home Assessment and become a product of the product, investing in their shopping annuity. People say they’re going to show the Plan more, or sell more tickets to events, or use social media to fi ll the funnel. You know what I tell them? Just do it.

After reviewing thousands of entries from people who collectively lost thousands of pounds during the TLS Find Your Fit 2012 Fall Challenge, the winners were selected and crowned onstage at this year’s World Conference.

The TLS Find Your Fit Challenge is about keeping an eye on the prize and enjoying the journey to a better lifestyle. Participants must submit before and after photos, as well as an essay detailing the journey they had along the way. Among the amazing transformations and moving stories, winners were selected for their results during the 12-week challenge and their wonderful representation of what it means to Find Your Fit.

Meredith, an on-air talent at a television station, lives her life in the spotlight. Unfortunately, this often leads to tough criticism from her audience. When she received a very frank email from a viewer about how unfl attering a particular outfi t was, she decided she needed to change something about the way she was living.

“I realized the problem: I was living an unhealthy lifestyle. It consisted of eating whatever I wanted, unlimited happy hours, and constantly skipping workouts. I realized I needed help because NOTHING I tried in the past worked. As fate had it, I was approached to take on the TLS Find Your Fit 2012 Fall Challenge, where I could potentially make a change to help me not just personally, but professionally. It was a tough fi rst month; the fi rst week I was crabby and wondering if I could ever change my bad habits.

As the weeks passed, I noticed huge changes in the way I was feeling, my approach to life, and the toning of my body. Dresses in my closet, once too tight, now fi t perfectly. You don’t have to try hard to engage your social media audience. Just be yourself and work smart, and you’ll get the results you want. By Heather Pike

When it comes to networking via social media, it’s very easy to work smarter, not harder by just being yourself. It’s much easier to engage your audience by conversing naturally, just like you would in person. You don’t have to go out of your way or be pushy to get the word out — in fact, that’s exactly what you don’t want to do.

Start with building your brand online. Think of your online profi le as a representation of who you are. Keep your profi le information short, concise, and professional, but also be yourself. Your profi le information should not be a sales pitch. As Loren Ridinger said in her presentation at this year’s World Conference, “Please don’t put that you are nothing and you don’t do anything.” Your profi le information is the fi rst impression that someone will get of your online persona — use it wisely.

Be consistent across all social media platforms — each one should represent you exactly the same way. Use the same profi le picture across the board to create a sense of branding and to make you easier to fi nd.

JR Ridinger once said, “There will be a time when you will not have to look for customers; they will come to you.” We are in that time, especially in the realm of social media. More and more people every day turn to social media for recommendations. If someone wants to know something, they’ll ask on Facebook or Twitter rather than calling a friend or using a search engine. All you have to do is fi nd the people who are already asking by utilizing social searching: simply searching social media for what people are talking about, and engaging your audience using the results.

For example, a search of “eyeliner” or “vitamins” on Twitter yields hundreds of results of people talking about these products — many of whom are looking for a new one to try. You can then simply respond to that person’s tweet and give them the recommendation they were looking for. This is a normal, natural way to engage without being pushy — you are simply answering a question the person was already asking.

One of the most effective ways to engage an audience with minimal effort is to run a simple giveaway. Everyone loves something free! For very low expense, you can expose yourself to limitless new people, and the return will end up being much bigger than your investment. Loren did this by giving away fi ve lipsticks on Twitter — to enter, people simply had to tweet her with their favorite lipstick shade. The response was fantastic — the giveaway led to 11 new customers and 747 new followers in fi ve days.

Another way to naturally engage on social media is to talk about relevant topics. Leave a “cookie crumb,” as Loren says, back to your site while using these relevant keywords. People will search for this topic, see your post, and you will get new exposure just by engaging. Loren did this and gained 200 new followers within a day, simply by discussing a hot topic.

Engaging your social media audience doesn’t have to be a process. Just be yourself, and use these simple tips while engaging in natural conversation and you can make the most of the powerhouse that social media has become.

It is with great sadness that we hear of the passing of one of our teammates, Mrs. Tsai Wha Wu. As an Advisory Council member, Million Dollar Club member, an NMTSS district and local coordinator of many years, and Executive Field Vice President, Tsai Wha served as a true role model for us to follow and left very big shoes to fill.

During Market America’s early international expansion into Taiwan and Hong Kong, many Chinese global UFOs would see each other in passing on planes, at meetings or casual gatherings. We loved seeing each other and helping one another, and we worked together as a family. That is how we came to know Tsai Wha — we learned of her persistence, her solid understanding of the UnFranchise policies and procedures, and her selflessness to help other teams in the company. It is with deep sadness that we mourn the loss of one of our Market America family members. Tsai Wha (Annie) Wu died recently after a long battle with cancer.

Tsai Wha was well-known among Shop Consultants for her unwavering dedication and motivating attitude. Most of those around her were not aware of her illness because she did not want people to worry about her. According to Joanne Hsi, “she wanted to be a source of inspiration rather than the cause of people’s concern.”

We are faced with a loss that we

will feel deeply and long, but we can

also be heartened by the legacy she

leaves. We all know that our time on

this earth is limited and each of us in

our own way yearns to extend those

years by continuing to live in the

hearts and minds of those we touched

in our mortal lives. We know that

Tsai Wha now rests in a better place, free from the disease

she so valiantly fought; and we can take comfort in knowing

that her life and spirit will endure in the countless

hearts she

touched. Annie leaves behind a loving husband, son and family

who will never forget the love and care she bestow

ed upon

them. She also leaves behind an extended family of thousands of

business partners whose lives were also blessed by

her touch.

Tsai Wha gave tirelessly of her time to help others duplicate

the financial and time freedom she created for her family

through her business. She was a Market America pioneer in

the United States, Canada, Taiwan and Hong Kong. She was a

source of inspiration for not only her junior busine

ss partners,

but also for other senior leaders such as Nina Hale and me.

What I remember most about Tsai Wha is her love of life

and people. She loved being part of our business b

ecause it

gave her the opportunity to give others the gift o

f beauty.

Whenever I would get too caught up in business polit

ics or the

minor issues of life, Tsai Wha was there to remind me to enjoy

my life, to pursue my passions, and to seek out beauty in all

its forms.

We all hope to achieve some measure of immortality, but few

ever do. Tsai Wha’s spirit and legacy will continue to live in all

of us she counseled, led and trained. We will never forget her.

Her legacy will also survive in those who never had t

he pleasure

of her company as the business leaders of tomorrow create

their own legacies based on her pioneering efforts

Over the past several months, ma Cares has participated in many charitable events to impact lives and show that every piece of the puzzle matters. By Heather Pike

What began as a grassroots movement almost 15 years ago has blossomed into an incredible organization that is impacting the lives of both the volunteers and the recipients. 2012 was a very big year for ma Cares, and 2013 is slated to be even bigger and better, with events scheduled throughout the year with the goal of enriching the lives of as many as possible.

Over the past several months, ma Cares participated in philanthropic efforts for organizations such as Earlier.org, Pathways Center and Patriot Rovers. ma Cares held several fundraising events at Market America’s corporate headquarters, including back-to-school, Christmas and Valentine’s Day drives for the young residents of Pathways Center, a local shelter for homeless families transitioning into permanent housing. Market America employees also donated non-perishable food items for several weeks toward a food drive for Servant Center, a homeless shelter for veterans. Most recently, corporate employees donated their loose change to the Change for a Change campaign. This campaign benefi ted Patriot Rovers, an organization that rescues and trains dogs to be certifi ed Psychiatric Service Dogs for veterans affected by post-traumatic stress disorder or traumatic brain injury. The money collected went toward paying for service dogs for the 70 veterans on the waiting list for a Patriot Rovers pup.

In early December 2012, ma Cares participated in a reunion and graduation ceremony for Patriot Rovers. Participants shared stories, laughter and more than a few tears at this beautiful event. Seven new Patriot Rovers

dogs passed their fi nal inspections and graduated at this event, including two dogs that Market America had sponsored, Amy Renee and Adam. It was a true honor to be part of this event, and ma Cares members look forward to many more Patriot Rovers graduations in the future.

ma Cares constantly fi nds fun ways to raise money for their various philanthropic efforts, making it exciting

and new for both committee members and participating employees. Throughout the past few months, there have been bake sales, a chili cook-off, games, raffl es and many other events that put the “fun” in “fundraising.” These efforts proved that donating in small ways adds up to a big difference in the lives of others.

Beat the doldrums of winter by taking important steps to grow your business. By Lesley Tkaczyk

Get Motivated and Fight Cabin Fever It’s nearing the end of winter, but some people will still be hiding inside to escape the bad weather for a while longer. Don’t complain about cabin fever making you feel irritable and antsy; use that excess energy to make yourself more successful.

True entrepreneurs see winter as an opportunity to make headway with their growth goals for the year and not just an excuse to give in to the temptation to read or watch movies all day. Be smart with this time by laying foundations that will help your business thrive for the rest of the year.

Here are just a few ways to make that restless feeling work to your advantage:

EVALUATE YOUR GOALSOne of the best things you can do for your business is to evaluate your goals on a regular basis. It’s been a couple of months since you set those New Year’s resolutions and this is a great chance to check in on your progress. Are you less than a quarter of the way to the BV and IBV growth you wanted to reach? Well, believe it or not, a quarter of the year is gone already! That’s a sign that you should take some time to figure out why you’re off track.

Reflecting on your progress will help identify concrete steps you can take to accomplish your goals throughout the rest of 2013. Consider attending training seminars, meet with your sponsor and make plans to go to International Convention in August — this support system is in place to help you become a hopeless success, so take advantage of it.

GET OUT OF THE HOUSEA change of scenery is important to keep energy levels high. Getting out will not only keep you active, but it’s also an excellent way to meet new prospects. Plan to work from a coffee shop for

the day, but skip the closest spot and head to one across town. Tweaking your routine just a bit can expose you to new people to talk with about your UnFranchise® Business.

Before you approach someone during your expeditions out of the house, be sure to take a minute to pay attention to what they’re doing. Even the smallest details can spark a conversation, like with the woman in the coffee shop who checked her makeup three times in 10 minutes.
