Report by the Director-General

1. In compliance with a previous request of the Executive Board the Director-General submits the attached tables showing programme changes reflected in the 1974 revised estimates as compared with the 1974 original estimates on a project by project basis for all six regions. The tables show in addition the projects which have been transferred from the list of additional projects requested by governments and not included in the programme and budget estimates, and those transferred to or from other funds, as well as other changes• Brief explanations are also given under the column "Remarks". It should be pointed out that costing differences between the original and the revised estimates have not been included in the attached tables.

2, The main reason for the upward and downward revisions of the estimates for field projects is the programme changes requested by governments as indicated in the attached tables. The revised 1974 estimates, and the changed requirements of governments reflected therein, were considered by the respective regional committees at their sessions in 1973 in connexion with their review of the regional programme and budget proposals for 1975.
