WORLD OF SELF, FAMILY AND FRIENDS

POEM

I’ve Been Growing

Little by little, I’ve been growing,

It happened without me even knowing,

It happened so slowly without showing,

But today I know I’ve been growing.

For last year’s coat which used to be roomy,

Today is tight and clinging to me,

It’s short and it doesn’t look right on the new me,

That’s how I know I’ve been growing!

SONG

I Wish

I wish I was

An only child

No brothers or sisters

To drive me wild

I wish I had

An older brother

And a sister

And another

I hate it when

We have a fight

I’m always wrong

They’re always right

I hate it when

There’s no one there

To play with me

To laugh, to share.

WORLD OF STORIES

POEM

brilliant – like me

today I went with Mum

and Dad on the bus and

the train for our baby

it took us three hours

to travel all that way

but we knew she’d be

worth the long journey

our baby and me are

adopted, but we both

have freckly skin

and I laughed today

when I saw her- she

gave me a gummy grin

I laughed when I saw

her- looking just

like me, she’s even got

a funny pointy chin

Page 4: World of Self

I’m glad Mum and Dad

chose our baby- I’m

glad they both chose me

It’s going to be great

to have a little sister

I think she’s brilliant

like me.

SONG

A Little Pig

A little pig found a fifty-pound note

And purchased a hat and a very fine coat,

With trousers, and stockings, and shoes,

Cravat, and shirt-collar, and gold-headed cane;

Then proud as could be, did he march up the lane,

Says he ‘I shall hear all the news ‘.

WORLD OF KNOWLEDGE

POEM

Trees

Trees are the kindest things I know,

They do no harm, they simply grow

And spread a shade for sleepy cows,

And gather birds among their boughs.

They give us fruit in leaves above,

And wood to make our houses of,

And leaves to burn on Hallowe’en

And in the Spring new buds of green.

SONG

I’m a Banana Man

I’m a banana man

I just love shaking

those yellow hands

yes man

Banana in the morning

Banana in the evening

Banana before I go to bed

at night, that’s right

that’s how much I love

the Banana Bite

I’m a banana man

not a Superman

or a Batman

or a Spiderman

no man

Banana in the morning

Banana in the evening

Banana before I go to bed

at night, that’s right

that’s how much I love

the Banana Bite
