Past of developing countries

• In the 19th or 20th century, most of the current developing countries were colonized by the western countries, which brought their industrial and cultural achievements, law system, language and many other things to the colonized countries.• Since these countries gained their independency, most of them felt instability, corruption, violence, and military authoritarism.

Unstability, wars and corruption

• Corruption in state institutions prevents developing countries from foreign investment, which would create new working places and help economic growth;• Due to the unstable system in their countries, most talented people tend to leave; • Criminal gangs are unpunishable due to the weak law system.

Poor health and educational system

• Workers from the healthcare system are emigrating to the developed Western countries;• There is not enough cure or prevention for the spread of malaria, AIDS, tuberculosis and other diseases • Due to the still active child labor, high level of teenage pregnancy, lack of teaching materials – education system is highly ineffective.

Overpopulation

• Many developing countries are overpupalted mainly due to the issues of birth control.• As a result: people lacks natural resources like fresh water, food. They lack land, jobs, housing, proper education and social care.• Overpopulation also causes increasing pollution, trees are being chopped down.

Climate, dried soil and disasters

• Out of 100 disasters reported worldwide, only 20 occur in Africa, but Africa suffers 60% of all disaster-related deaths. • Africa may be able to feed just 25% of its population by 2025 if soil degradation will continue at the same speed;

What should be done to improve

• “Teach people how to fish instead of giving them a fish” – basic forms of food or medicine aid is important, but Western countries should also bring the know-how to the developing countries.• Decrease bureacracie and make other required changes in order to attract foreign investment;• Enpower women in developing countries;
