Please pray that theChristians who attend theconsultation will realizethe importance of beingpro-active in reaching outto their Muslim neighbors.Also, pray for unity amongthe local Christians asthey work together tostrengthen the church.

    May 6 | ETHIOPIASome Christians in certain partsof southern Ethiopia feel they can no longer live inthese areas as a result of continued threats against theirlives. Let us pray for Gods comfort upon the remainingbelievers in this region and that they will put their trustin God. Even though I walk through the valley of theshadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me;

    your rod and your sta , they comfort me. (Ps. 23:4)

    May 7 | ETHIOPIAPlease also pray for the Christiansin southern Ethiopia who have been forced into Islam.Continue to pray for Gods intervention in the abovementioned volatile situation, that the authorities willtreat all citizens equally.

    May 8 | CENTRAL ASIAPlease pray for all ourincome-generating projects in the Central Asia regionwith so much poverty, that they will be a real blessingand help people like Rahmina and Gula to make endsmeet. My comfort in my su ering is this: Your promisepreserves my life. (Ps. 119:50)

    May 9 | UZBEKISTANThe import of Bibles isbecoming increasingly di cult due to further legalrequirements. Please pray that the o cial import of Scriptures will remain possible in Uzbekistan.

    May 10 | TAJIKISTANPlease pray for the Christianorganizations in the country as the Ministry of Culture hasissued an order to investigate non-Islamic organizationsin the country. Ask for wisdom for all concerned. Wisdom issupreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have,get understanding. (Prov. 4:7)

    May 11 | MEXICOPray for the believers in thecommunity of Tuxpan de Bolaos in Jaliscostate. Our brothers are still in bondage because of thegospel. They are still excluded from community activitiesand are not allowed to leave their community formore than three days. If they do, they will lose all rightsto their lands and properties. Turn, O LORD, and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love. (Ps. 6:4)

    May 12 | QATARJoin us in prayer for a secret Qataribeliever who dearly loves the Lord and hungers forQatari Christian friends with a Muslim background likehe has. Pray for this brother; that the Lord will protectand strengthen him, and that he will be one of the rstof many indigenous believers in Qatar. I long for your salvation, O LORD, and your law is my delight. (Ps. 119:174)

    Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and

    the God of all comfort, who comforts usin all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort weourselves receive from God. (2 Cor. 1:3-4)

    April 23-24 | LAOSYoung churchesin the provinces of Laos are strugglingbecause of weak leadership, coupled withtremendous persecution. Some churchesare without a pastor to lead them. Pleaseremember them in your prayers today;ask God to sustain them and for more of His workers to be sent to these areas tohelp these struggling churches. Therefore,among Gods churches we boast about your

    perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you areenduring. (2 Thes. 1:4)

    April 25 | MALAYSIAMalay locals are sometimes drawnto the love of Christ through television, radio and randomlydistributed literature. After embracing the gospel, they areclueless on what to do next. Speci cally pray for God to

    connect these new believers to mature Christians who arewilling to mentor them in the faith. Bind up the testimony and seal up the law among my disciples. (Is. 8:16)

    April 26 | MALDIVESIt is virtually impossible for Christiansin Maldives to gather as a church for worship and fellowship.Greeting one another in public places poses risks for them.Although discouraging, the Lord is able to sustain His childrenin such tough circumstances. Let us pray for this to be truefor our brothers and sisters in Maldives.Therefore, brothers, inall our distress and persecution we were encouraged about youbecause of your faith. (1 Thes. 3:7)

    April 27 | MALDIVESMaldives boasts of having a 100%Muslim population. Practice of religions other than Islam isprohibited, even though its leaders committedto uphold the UN Universal Declarationof Human Rights. This year, let us pray forbreakthroughs with religious freedom inMaldives.For the creation was subjected tofrustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that thecreation itself will be liberated from its bondageto decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. (Rom. 8:20-21)

    April 28 | MYANMARBecause of severepoverty, some believers in Myanmar getinvolved in church work for nancial reasons. Be

    p r i l that as it may, we can still ask the Lord to work in their hearts.Let us pray for Gods love to ultimately compel them to serveHim and His church.April 29 | SOUTHERN PHILIPPINESBesides adultbelievers, Open Doors literacy program is bene tting manyChristian children too. Their hopes are restored when theylearn to read and write. Please continue praying for Godswisdom and strength to be with the coordinators, teachers andstudents of this program. It is God who arms me with strengthand keeps my way perfect. (Ps. 18:32)

    April 30 May 1 | SRI LANKAThis year, Open Doorswill provide monthly support for 15 Christian teachers whowill work in Sri Lankan schools. Through them, elementaryChristian students can ful l their academic requirements toprogress to high school. Pray for the Lord to sustain theseteachers and for Christ to be seen through their lives. But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you. (Ps. 5:11)

    May 2 | VIETNAMChildrens camps will be held acrossVietnam this summer. Thousands of children ock to theseevents with much anticipation. Many of them walk longdistances to reach the campsites, while some sneak out of theirhomes just to attend. Let us pray for Gods hand of protectionover these children.

    May 3 | VIETNAMDespite languagebarriers and t ravel di culties, Philip starteda small tribal church in an isolated village inCentral Vietnam. Nine new believers wereadded to his church last year. We praise Godfor this testimony! Please continue prayingfor Gods protection upon Philip and hisgrowing congregation.

    May 4 | ERITREAPlease join us in prayerfor the Christians who continue to meetin secret. Pray for their protection andcontinued spiritual growth. These thingsI remember as I pour out my soul: how I

Please ask God for wisdom andstrength for these two men; that they willknow what to do and where to go. Since youare my rock and my fortress, for the sake of your name lead and guide me. (Ps. 31:3)

    April 18 | COLOMBIAGuerillas hardened their positionagainst the church in the southern region. Please pray forthe many pastors who have received threats if they continuepreaching in prohibited regions. Be strong and courageous.Do not be afraid or terri ed because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.

    (Deut. 31:6)April 19 | BANGLADESHBelievers who are formerMuslims struggle to make a living in their communities.They are seldom hired because of their Christian faith. SoOpen Doors implemented a program that extends livelihoodassistance to enterprising believers. Please pray for the Lordto prosper our bene ciaries in 2011.

    April 20 | BHUTANIn remote areas that arepredominantly Hindu or Buddhist, the believers experiencecriticism, humiliation and alienation from their neighbors.Please uphold them in prayer, so that they stand rm in thefaith when they go through these di culties. But as for you,be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded. (2Chron. 15:7)

    April 21 | BRUNEIMany of the believers who are BruneiMalays are isolated from the rest of the body of Christ. Theyare susceptible to discouragement, eventually causingsome of them to return to their old faith. Today, please ask God to preserve their pure faith and to give them strengthto persevere. Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. (James 1:12)
