0 6In the NeighborhoodWHEN GOD GETS PERSONAL, PART ONEPASTOR MATT ANDERSON [@ANDERSONMATT]

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God ...The Word became flesh and blood and moved into the neighborhood.

John 1:1, 14

the incarnation:

2 Stories | 2 Questions

“Let Jesus be as human as he intended to be. Let him into the mire and muck of our world. For only if we let him in can he pull us out.” — Max Lucado

ADVENT:The main point of Advent is growing into a deeper, truer relationship with God. It’s sharing our yearning and hope with our community of faith. It’s getting in touch with our need for a Savior and our yearning for the kingdom of God. In Advent, by putting ourselves in the place of those who, centuries ago, longed for a Messiah to set them free, we get our hearts ready to be renewed by the good news of Christmas: “Joy to the world, the Lord has come!” — M. Roberts

We’re so glad you’ve chosen to join us in worship today. Over the next hour, we will sing a few songs, join together in prayer, and hear a message that speaks to how truth and faith intersect with our lives today. In a world that pulls us in so many directions, this time of worship helps us remember what is most important as we turn our hearts and minds toward God.

We’d love to know you’re here today, so take a moment to fill out the Connection Card found in this worship guide, which includes a place where you can let us know about prayer concerns and/or questions you might have. Place the Connection Card into the offering plate/basket or into a BLUE BOX, found at each exit. Thanks again for gathering with us today at Crossings!

NEW TO CROSSINGS?Stop by Guest Central in the Atrium today after the service. We would love to meet you!

WANT TO TAKE THE NEXT STEP IN YOUR FAITH?Visit Next Step in the Atrium following the service today. We would love to help you find a class, group or personal spiritual growth plan!
