God guides us through life’s storms, and the psalmist calls us to “extol him in the congregation of the people” (Psalm 107:32, NRSV). We praise you, God, for being our safe haven.

Our Christian sympathy is extended to Jack Phillips and his family in the death of his brother, James Phillips.
In the absence of our pastor, who is attending the National CBF General Assembly Meeting in Texas (CBF is covering the total cost of this trip), we welcome to our pulpit today Rev. Terry-Michael Newell. Rev. Newell works in private practice as a pastoral counselor offering therapy to individuals, couples and families. He has served as Campus Minister at Campbell University, Pastor for Congregational Care at Zebulon Baptist Church and Resident Chaplain for Wake-Med Health and Hospitals. He and his family live in Zebulon. Please give Rev. Newell a warm KBC welcome!

We just need to provide the volunteers and a small cost of 25 cents per meal. So who should come and help? EVERYONE! Our goal is 10,000 meals. So far we have collected funds for 1,241 meals! The “Backpack Buddies” program is an ongoing ministry KBC has with Knightdale Elementary School. Although we aren’t delivering bags during the summer, we are continuing to collect items so that we will be prepared to start back in September. Donations like grits, oatmeal, soft packs of fruits, vegetables, soups, applesauce, pudding, canned meats, ramen noodles, individual packs of peanut butter, etc. are greatly appreciated.

Also, if you have a change in the schedule for the children’s nursery or children’s church, please contact the monthly coordinator so that the change can be made prior to the printing of the worship bulletin.
