We Pray For God To Help Us Worship

Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! He died for us that we might live for him.

God Calls Us To Confess Our Sin from Proverbs 9:10; 28:13-14

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.Blessed is the one who fears the Lord always, but whoever hardens his heart will fall into calamity.Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.

    We Confess Our Sin

Eternal Father, the mystery and wisdom of your purpose has been revealed in us,the church of many peoples made members of the same body. But we often forget or reject your eternal purposein favor of our earthly plans, and the ugly darkness of our disputes and divisionhide the light of your wisdom and reconciling power. So, we have fallen short of your gloryand sinned against you and against one anotherin thought, word, and deed,by what we have doneand by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart;we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.Lord, have mercy on us.

    (silent prayers of confession)

Eternal Father, fix our eyes firmly on Jesus so that we remember your eternal purpose and seek your wisdom and life that we can only find in Christ. Renew us and lead us by your Holy Spirit so that we will grow together as one body in Christ and display your love that triumphs over evil for your great glory and our great joy.

God Declares Our Forgiveness from Colossians 1:12-14; Ephesians 2:14, 16

God the Father has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. He himself is our peace and has reconciled us to God in one body through the cross.

For all who have turned from sin in sorrow and look to God for mercy, this is God’s gift. In Jesus Christ, God loves you, God forgives you, God accepts you, and God rejoices over you as beloved daughters and sons.

    Hallelujah, Amen!

    SEATEDGod Baptizes His Children

I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell.*The third day he rose again from the dead.He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic** church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

    * “hell” here means the place or state of the dead, not a place or state of punishment. The creed affirms that Jesus experienced the full reality of human death as his soul was severed from his dead body until his resurrection restored the full unity of his person.** “catholic” here means universal, not Roman Catholic.

God Instructs Us In Scripture Reading Ephesians 3:1-13

1 For this reason I, Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles— 2 assuming that you have heard of the stewardship of God’s grace that was given to me for you, 3 how the mystery was made known to me by revelation, as I have written briefly. 4 When you read this, you can perceive my insight into the mystery of Christ, 5 which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit. 6 This mystery is that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel. 7 Of this gospel I was made a minister according to the gift of God’s grace, which was given me by the working of his power. 8 To me, though I am the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, 9 and to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God, who created all things, 10 so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. 11 This according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, 12 in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him. 13 So I ask you not to lose heart over what I am suffering for you, which is your glory.

I thank my God when I remember you.In all my prayers I pray with joyFor your partnership in sharing the Good News,For I am sure that he who began a good work in youWill carry it on to completion until the day of Christ.

This is my prayer: that your love may overflow,And you will grow in knowledge and depth of understanding. For I am sure that he who began a good work in you will carry it on,That you may see what is best and be pure and blameless for the day of Christ.Amen.
