Children’s WorshipWe offer a specially designed program for children in pre-K through fourth grade during the morning services. A leader will escort children from the sanctuary to their classrooms during the hymn of preparation. Parents are welcome to accompany them to observe where to pick them up after the service. Parents of children in pre-K through second grade are asked to pick up their children following Sunday School or the 11 a.m. worship service.

Nursery Nurseries are provided for infants and toddlers during the worship services and Sunday School. We also provide a Mother/Infant Room equipped with audio located beside Nursery 1. Ushers are available to direct you.

Spiritual CareIf you would like to speak to someone about what it means to know Jesus Christ or you have any spiritual need or question, please use one of the prayer cards in the pew rack to contact one of our pastors. Our church elders are also available to speak with you. An elder will be standing next to the pastor following the service.

WelcomeWe are very glad to have you worshipping our gracious God with us today.

Sanctuary Flowers – The sanctuary flowers are given today to the glory of God from the wedding of Amy Gates and David Russell.

As stewards of God’s resources, we try not to print an excess of bulletins. We invite you to bring this bulletin with you when you return for the evening service.

Prayer During the ServicesEach Sunday people gather in the Telfair Room during the 8:30 and 11 a.m. services to pray for the service, the pastor as he preaches and for those worshipping. All are welcome to participate. This week the prayer sessions will be hosted and led by the Lakeside Parish at 8:30 a.m. and the Grovetown Parish at 11 a.m.

Fairest Lord Jesus, Ruler of all nature,Son of God and Son of Man!Thee will I cherish, thee will I honor, Thou, my soul’s glory, joy, and crown.

Fair are the meadows, fairer still the woodlands, Robed in the blooming garb of spring.Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer,Who makes the woeful heart to sing.

† The Confession of Faith ......................................................................Apostles’ CreedI believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell.* The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic** church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

The Confession of Sin (Please kneel if able to do so)

Dear Heavenly Father, we bow ourselves before you and confess that we have too often forgotten that we are your sons and daughters. Sometimes we carry on our lives as if there is no God and we fall short of being credible witnesses to you. We have denied you with silence, passivity, and cowardice. We have betrayed you by our idolatry, disobedience and selfishness. Instead of following your ways, we have turned to our own ways. Instead of honoring you, we have desired the applause of man. For these things we ask your forgiveness and your enabling grace. Transform us into courageous ambassadors for Christ. Give us clear minds and open hearts so we may be your witnesses in a lost world. Remind us that we are your servants regardless of what we are doing, where we are, or who we are with. Draw us ever closer to you and embolden us to take up our cross daily to follow you. For the sake of Jesus our Savior, Amen.

The Offering* (Please take a moment to sign the attendance register.)

The God of Abraham praise, who reigns enthroned above,Ancient of everlasting days and God of love. Jehovah! Great I Am! by earth and heav’n confessed,I bow and bless the sacred name, forever blest.

He by himself hath sworn, I on his oath depend;I shall, on eagles’ wings upborne, to heav’n ascend. I shall behold his face, I shall his power adore,And sing the wonders of his grace forevermore.

The Offertory - The God of Abraham Praise ..................................................arr. Held

The Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s PrayerOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.Thy kingdom come.Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.Give us this day our daily bread,And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

*Online giving is available at firstpresaugusta.org and at the giving kiosk in the Narthex.

The Assurance of Pardoning Grace ............................................................John 2:1-2But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense —Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

The Shorter Catechism, Question 8:

Q: How does God carry out his decrees? A: God carries out his decrees in creation and providence.

Testimony - Campus Outreach Augusta

I need thee every hour, most gracious Lord.No tender voice like thine can peace afford.I need thee every hour, stay thou nearby.Temptations lose their power when thou art nigh.

I need thee, O I need thee,O I need thee every hour.I need you, Lord, O bless me now.My Savior, I come to thee.

I need thee every hour in joy or pain.Come quickly and abide, or life is vain.I need thee every hour, teach me thy will,And thy rich promises in me fulfill.I need thee every hour, most holy One.O make me thine indeed, thou blessed Son.
