EXECUTIVE SUMMARY This report is developed in the framework of WP6, “Communication and Dissemination”, and concretely, is the output of task 6.2, “Dissemination tools and materials development and publication”, and constitutes the results of the deliverable D9.1 “Internet portal and first set of dissemination materials”. The AWESOME consortium will not be the only beneficiary of the research and training results. In this sense, the partners are committed to aware the society about the relevance of wind energy operation and maintenance, the importance of H2020 programme for fostering the R&D and the contributions to the EU policies to a sustainable growth. This report includes procedures and tools to be used by the consortium to carry out the corresponding dissemination activities. One of the main points of this document is the availability of templates with AWESOME format so that every message delivered from the consortium is identifiable with regard to the project. A visual identity has been developed for the project, in line with the H2020 visual guidelines. Besides, a public website (http://awesome-h2020.eu/) has been created from the very beginning of the project, since one of the most important functions is the publicity of the eleven PhD vacancies of AWESOME network. In this deliverable the different sections of the public website are presented. This workspace will be maintained and updated, relying on the contribution of the rest of the network members. This public website has been developed under the H2020 guidelines, achieving a very visual aspect in order to engage as many visitors as possible. One of the main objectives of the AWESOME project website consists of disseminating the scientific results coming from the researchers and mentors activities, as well as the training events that will be organized during the project lifetime. The content of this deliverable is a live content which may be modified and broaden along the lifetime of the project according to the suggestion of any partner and the needs to achieve the objectives of the dissemination.

INTRODUCTION This document consists of the internet portal and first set of dissemination materials prepared under the Project AWESOME EC-GA contract no 642108. The deliverable 6.1 is under the following tasks within the DoA of the AWESOME project: Task 6.2 Dissemination tools and materials development and publication The intended audience of this report is each individual participant of the project consortium and the associated partners, as well as any stakeholder or individual interested in the activities and outputs of the project AWESOME. The purpose of this report is to provide to the consortium the appropriate tools in order to be able to carry out the different dissemination activities foreseen in the DoA. Besides, the functionalities and structure of the public website are detailed. Different dissemination materials will be added to the ones presented in this deliverable according to the project needs and the suggestions from the different partners of the consortium afterwards.

1 INTERNET PORTAL

A public website has been created and will be maintained during the lifetime of the project. The project website will be the main communication tool of the project, where all the dissemination materials will be published in a timely manner. Besides, the internet portal will function as communication platform to assist the coordination of the project and its activities. An individual domain has been acquired to host the website. The link to the website can be found as follows: http://awesome-h2020.eu/ This public website has been developed under the H2020 guidelines, achieving a very visual interface in order to engage as many visitors as possible. Some of the main objectives of the AWESOME project website would consist of:

- Posting the eleven PhD vacancies according to the recruitment procedure - Disseminating the scientific results coming from the researchers and mentors activities - Showing and publicity of the training events to be organized under the umbrella of the

project

1.1.1 Linkedin A linkedin account has been specifically created for AWESOME Project purposes. This account will enable to disseminate all related public materials, which are outputs of the project, in a very easy and effective manner. As an example for the time being, the eleven vacancies has been published and the news concerning the launching of the project have been uploaded. 1.2 Research This section is broken down in two tabs, with the aim of explaining motivation and specific objectives of the AWESOME project.

1.3 AWESOME Bodies The three tabs that compose this section details the project consortium, including visual images (such as maps, partners´ logos) and descriptions. The AWESOME bodies may be consulted by country and by type of partner (either beneficiary or partner organization).

1.4 Training This section details the training events foreseen during the project lifetime. A calendar shows the different dates in two different colors, according to the type of event:

- Blue: training activities organized ad-hoc for the project purposes - Orange: training activities open and disseminated to the general public

1.5 Fellows A specific space for the Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) has been created. At this moment, this section is divided in two tabs:

1. Vacancies: a table with an overview of the eleven PhD positions has been included. Direct links to the complete vacancy description is available, either downloadable in AWESOME format or directly linked to EURAXESS website.

By the time all the positions will be fulfilled with the corresponding applicants, it is foreseen to substitute the “vacancies” section by “fellows’ project” section. Thus description of the different projects carried out during AWESOME lifetime are described.

2. Eligibility criteria: general and common conditions to be able to apply to the Marie Curie

ITN – AWESOME positions are described. Besides, links to the documents that detail the recruitment procedure are available so that the applicants may consult them.

2 FIRST SET OF DISSEMINATION MATERIALS

Within this point the different tools prepared at this moment to be able to achieve the higher possible impact are described. According to the first needs of the project and the AWESOME bodies, as well as the foreseen implementations described in the DoA, the following materials are already available:

3 CONCLUSIONS

Due to the characteristics of the deliverable no conclusions are included at the present stage of the project. Nevertheless the evolution of the project will bring conclusions to be included in the updating of the dissemination and communication of the project.

An international project will improve wind farm efficiency and profitability AWESOME, financed in the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 programme, gathers some of Europe’s

most prominent research centres, universities and businesses in the field of wind power with a view to enhancing knowledge on wind farm management and maintenance.

The aim of the project is to cater for the growing demand of knowledge and the lack of qualified workers in this sector, which is likely to create up to 50,000 jobs by 2030.

The AWESOME project – Advanced Wind Energy System Operation and Maintenance Experience – is a research collaborative project funded by the European Commission under the Horizon2020 with 2.8 million euros. It is coordinated by the Research for Energy Resources and Consumption (CIRCE) in order to tackle the current obstacles hindering smooth wind turbine operation and maintenance. As Europe’s wind power facilities are ageing, and new wind farms are mainly being set up offshore, it is increasingly important to operate and maintain these facilities correctly in order to ensure their optimal performance. AWESOME will help to build on existing techniques and know-how to improve these tasks. According to reports by the European Technology Platform for Wind Energy, the sector could create up to 50,000 employment opportunities by 2030. As it progresses, the project will develop new default planning and prevention strategies and will give rise to new know-how and experiences by training specialised professionals. To do so, AWESOME will select 11 researchers and guide them through their doctoral theses on topics linked to wind farm operation and maintenance.

Thanks to its broad training programme and by disseminating its results, AWESOME will be contributing to research into wind turbine performance. It will also be laying the foundations of a knowledge network to promote research and training in the field and thus combat the shortage of specialised professionals.

The researchers selected will be supervised by distinguished players in the European wind power sector, belonging to the project partner’s organizations. The full consortium comprises European universities, companies and associations from Denmark, Germany, Norway, Spain, and the UK: Technical University of Denmark, University of Oldenburg, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Loughborough University, Technical University of Munich, University of Strathckyde, University of Castilla – La Mancha, Ramboll Management Consulting GmbH, and CIRCE, the project coordinator

Launching the project

The project began on 21 January with a launch meeting that was held at CIRCE’s main building on the University of Zaragoza’s Rio Ebro Campus. The event was attended by 15 professionals from the consortium with the aim of defining the first guidelines and discussing details on how to proceed. Together, the consortium members will be working shoulder-to-shoulder for the next four years as the project unfolds. In addition to the goals set within the project itself, this collaboration is expected to encourage an exchange of know-how and pave the way for further projects.
