    Sapore di Napoli: Thats Amore!

With hundreds o pizzerias inChicago, it is dicult or oneto stand out. Te Chicago-stylepizza is the Windy Citys stapleo course, but centuries beorepizza was even in Americas vocabulary, Naples was deco-rating pizzas with tomatoes, mozzarella and basil to sym-bolize the colors o their Ital-ian ag.

Why are pizza shops so popu-lar? Because compared to mostrestaurants, it is the easiest styleto manage. Not much more thandough, sauce, cheese and sometoppings. However, a half-Irish,half-Greek restaurant entrepre-neur wanted to break the Chica-go-style mold and establish theroots of pizzas original form.

I took a simple business mod-el of a pizzeria and wantedto do something nobody elsewas doing, which is offer veryhealthy and high-quality piz-za in a simple-style business, said Alec Yannoulis, owner ofChicagos Sapore di Napoli.(http://www.saporedinapoli.net)

Help Bring Home the Cure at WrigleyI someone were asked to describe Ron Santo, these thoughts mightcome to their mind: ormer Cubs third baseman, emotional colorradio broadcaster, cheerul optimist, tireless warrior in the ght tond a cure or diabetes. You cant think o Ron without remembering

him clicking his heels, wearing his heart on his sleeve or the Cubs,or dealing or most o his lie with a diagnosis o diabetes. He playedproessional baseball during a time when testing your blood sug-ar, simply by using a drop o blood and obtaining an instant result, was not yet available. He rst endorsed the Juvenile Diabetes Re-search Foundation International (JDRF) in 1974 through the RonSanto Walk to Cure Diabetes. Te annual event has helped JDRF toraise over $60 million over the years and, in 2002, Santo was namedJDRFs Person o the Year or his work with the oundation.

Even though he is no longer with us, Ronnie, as hes affectionately re-ferred to by millions of adoring Cubs fans, wanted nothing more than to seean end to the suffering by millions of people around the world forced to livewith diabetes every day. Although he left us with many lasting legacies bothon and off the eld, he also left us before his greatest legacy could be ful -lled. Like Cubs fans themselves, Ronnie believed that Wrigley Field wasa magical place where dreams come true. The owners of the Cubs, theRicketts family, share Ronnies dream and have worked tirelessly to sup-port JDRF in its search to nd a cure.

They, along with the entire Chicago Cubs organization, are opening the

gates of Wrigley Field on May 19, 2011 for a pair of Bringing Home theCure events. First, the Little Sluggers Family Event will take place from2-5:00pm and includes a trip to the concession stand for snacks, a tour ofthe ballpark, and a chance to hit in the batting cage and play catch on Wrig-ley Field. Taking place later in the day will be the Best of Illinois program, which includes dinner, a live auction, a tribute to Ron Santo, an award pres-entation to the Ricketts family for their contributions to JDRF, and a rousingrendition of Go Cubs Go.

This is a terric opportunity for fans to play a part in the quest for the cureas well and is one of the best ways to honor Ronnies legacy as a player,

broadcaster, and warrior in the ght against diabetes. Come out and sup-port Ronnies dream, help JDRF nd a cure, and spend a day or eveningnot just at Wrigley Field, but actually on Wrigley Field.

Whether it is 85 and sun-ny on a picturesque Satur-day afernoon or its 20 andsnowing, you can be surethat the ood, drinks, andcomradery will be owingat Te Dark Horse ap &Grille (3443 N. Sheeld),and owner Jon Donnelly

Right from the start in that in-famous 03 Cub season, Mois-es Alou and anywhere from10-12 major leaguers couldbe seen enjoying the variousarray of domestic and draftbeers. Known mostly for theiroutstanding burgers (which onMondays are a steal for $1),

The Dark Horse has a full menu which expands on the typical bar foodthe pulled pork and crab cakes are just two of the favorites.

One feature that can get taken for granted in The Dark Horse is the u

believable musical taste. Named after the George Harrison album, ThDark Horse plays great music, something that cannot be said for manof the bars in the area. With food and drink specials every day of thweek, along with 8 draft beer selections and plenty of domestic and imported bottles, The Dark Horse comfortably sits about 50 on the insidand 50 on their outdoor patio, the patio which showcases 4 television2 of which are gigantic hi-denition projection screens.. One of the greparts of The Dark Horse is that the Cubs do not have to be in town plaing to enjoy a full and enjoyable time.

When the NFL season rolls around, you will see plenty of Steeler su
