Thank you for volunteering for the House of Israel (HOI) in Balboa Park
We would like to Inform you of some guidelines that make a
richer experience for the guest and fun for you!
Why do I need This?
Hebrew Name pre-printed forms Pens Donation Box Donation Sign Hebrew letter cards 2 x 3 cards Materials for general distribution 4 chairs – 2 for Volunteers, 2 for visitors
Table Setup
Writing Names
Greet people as they enter the House Ask them if they would like their names
written in Hebrew Write the visitor’s name in English at the
bottom of the paper Explain that you will write the name
phonetically at the top of the paper
Writing Names
Write their name in the blank space in the form
Tell them the meaning of their name in Hebrew, if there is one
Explain that Hebrew is written right to left Explain the pronunciation of each letter Give them the paper and a card with the
Hebrew alphabet on it

Smile Our guest really enjoy this experience! Be aware of the crowd. If there are people
waiting, encourage guests you have just finished with to visit the House, and invite new people to sit down
If guests are willing, take a picture of them holding their name for our website or social media
Enjoy yourself!!! You will be remembered!
