Gregory Mead

Gregory Mead is the Director of the Ocean Dome in Dubai. He was born in 1950

in Los Angeles, California. He earned a bachelor of business management from

University of California in 1972. He also earned his master’s degree in Public

Relation from University of Southern California, and a doctorate in Business

Management from University of California in 1982.

Mead began his career as a manger in California Company in 1975 and in 1995

he moved to Dubai to work for Emaar. In 1999 he ranked as one of the best

manger in the UAE. Later on Mead decided to build his own business and

company.

In year 2001, Mead funded the first underwater entertainment park and named

it Ocean Dome inspired by the history of diving in UAE.

Mead the Director of the Ocean Dome Company got married in 2002 to Mary

John and they have one child, Ashlee.

Ocean Dome names a new president

What: The Emaar company named Gregory Mead the new president of the Ocean Dome.

Mead will take control of the office at 8a.m, Sept. 1, in Management section at the Ocean Dome.

Who: Mead comes to Ocean Dome from Emaar in Dubai where he served as a business manger for twenty years. Before that, he was a graduate from University of California in California at the University of Southern California where he received his Master’s degree. He also earned his PHD in Business Management from University of California in 1982.

Where: University of California in California in 1972, USA.

When: Mead will begin his role as president in Jan 1th, 2009, said Hamad Al Katbi, Director of Emaar real estate

Tom Cruise caught on Mission Impossible film in Ocean Dome

The 48 years old Hollywood star Tom Cruise has shocked Ocean Dome last

week by a visit to film another series of his movie “Mission Impossible IV” in two

sets at the park. The scenes are about chasing him by another actor on the

biggest roller coater on the world and underwater by a bad guy.

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum the president of the United

Arab Emirates (UAE) and his son Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Bin Rashed ,

deputy ruler of Dubai and UAE minister of finance had both attend the filming set

and they took Tom Cruise around Ocean Dome and Dubia .

Tom Cruise was dressed all in black running across the park to the biggest

roller coaster that goes under the water. As technicians and film crew watched

nervously from their place.

Tom Cruise said to the chief executive officer Gregory Meade of Ocean

Dome , “ I am glad to visit Dubai and filming my film in the first and the biggest

theme park under the water”. During the lunch break Tom Cruise has had his

meal with the cast and the filmmaker at Segretto at Ocean Dome hotel. At night

he was spotted walking around the Ocean Dome hotel and the park in shorts and

trainers.

He also tweeted on his own twitter account that he is very happy and glad to

be in Dubai specially in Ocean Dome and the people here is very kind and other

tweet in Arabic for his fans in the Arab region.

Tom cruise has surprised Ocean Dome by buying all the tickets to play all

the rides at the park for himself and for his craw. He also sends an open letter to

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum thanking him for his hospitality

during filming of the latest Mission Impossible. He posted it in his officially

website saying “"We just wrapped shooting ‘MI: Ghost Protocol’ in Dubai and I

would like to take this opportunity to extend a sincere thank you to His Highness

Sheikh Mohammad and the team he assembled to assist us with our very

successful and productive time in his Emirate”

Tome cruise with Ethan Hunt character has filmed many of his stunts

during the Mission Impossible series. He expected to dangle from mountainsides

and perform tricks on motorbikes while simultaneously avoiding being killed by

the bad guys.

Important Background Information

Ocean Dome is one of the biggest aqua parks in the world that located in the

Middle East in Dubai. The park opened in year 2005 and it is the first park that

took a place underwater. It features more than 40 riders that operated

underwater for all types of genders and ages. Also, it has the first biggest hotel

and shopping center located underwater as well. It runs for time-to-time

concerts, festival show and events to entertain the visitors. The president of the

Ocean Dome Gregory A. Mead said that the aim of the park is to add a new and

unique experience to the visitors and to add joy to their life.

The Situation

Two weeks ago one of the main aquarium glass that located in the entrance in the

Ocean Dome got broken for no reason. This causes the visitors and the stuff to get

panic and scared. This result for this crisis was people started to push each other

to get out of the park, delays and children started to cry because of the screams.

The delay and the cracked on the main aquarium glass caused a crisis for the

Ocean Dome Company as it happened during the Dubai Shopping Festival event.

That means the number of the visitors will decline because of the reputation and

because of the temporary closing of the park to fix the problem.

Reaction: The president of the Ocean Dome, Gregory A Meade made a press

conference the next day to explain what had happened and to apologizing for the

problem. Also, he hired profession worker for outside the city to fix the aquarium

as soon as it possible. He let his PR people to send press release and emails to

their loyal costumers to explain everything and that everything is fine and there

was not any damage.

Ocean Dome re-opened three days after the crises and it announced that the first

100 visitors would get in for free.
