L’anno scorso, ad Adria, si era chiusa una grande stagione di karting.Oggi, invece, ad Adria, una nuova stagione di karting si apre con un nuove evento dell’era WSK. Debutta, infatti, la Gold Cup, nuovo appuntamento che ha tutte le carte in regola per essere entusiasmante e coinvolgente. Poi ad Adria di nuovo ci sarà anche il primo round della WSK Super Master Series che tanto spettacolo e adrenalina ha sempre regalato a piloti e appassionati.Saranno quattro le sfi de che si susseguiranno nelle prossime settimane, unendo idealmente l’Italia, da nord a sud, attraverso alcuni dei circuiti più importanti e riconosciuti a livello internazionale.Nuove avveture ci attendono; nuovi piloti da scoprire e “vecchie conoscenze” in cerca di riscatto. Per una stagione da vivere, come sempre, al massimo della velocità.

Last year in Adria we wrapped up a great karting season.Today in Adria we inaugurate a new race season, welcoming the premiere edition of the Gold Cup, a new event in WSK history that promises to be exciting and captivating.Adria will then open its doors again for the fi rst round of the WSK Super Master Series, a classic that always guarantees a thrilling show for fans and some of the best adrenaline-packed action for drivers. From here, the Series will continue in the weeks to come with three other rounds, crossing Italy north to south as it stops in circuits that are among the most prestigious and appreciated in the world.New challenges are before us, with fresh names to discover and “old acquaintances” looking for redemption. So get ready for another full throttle season of phenomenal racing.

The sixth edition of a successful race series and a new one-off challenge at the Adria Karting Raceway: these are the next international karting competitions on calendar

Le prossime competizioni di karting internazionale sono un campionato, arrivato alla sesta edizione, ed una gara unica che si correrà all’Adria Karting Raceway

The longest running and most important series by WSK Promotion, the WSK Super Master Series is at its sixth edition (the second as “Super”). The big news for 2015 is the number of rounds: four, instead of three as last year. The grand opening is set for March 8th at the new Adria Karting Raceway. From there the four categories in contention (60 Mini, KFJ, KF and KZ2) will stop at the famous 7 Laghi track in Castelletto di Branduzzo (March 20-22) and in Muro Leccese’s legendary La Conca track (April 10-12), before the grand fi nale in Sarno on April 26.

La WSK Super Master Series compie sei anni (solo 2 come “Super”), la più longeva delle competizioni WSK Promotion e ad oggi la più importante, si presenta in questo 2015 con un’interessante novità rispetto all’anno passato. Dai tre round del 2014 si passa, infatti, a quattro. Si partirà con il week end dell’ 8 marzo quando, nel nuovo circuito di Adria, le quattro categorie (60 Mini, KFJ, KF e KZ2) scenderanno in pista per esordire nella manifestazione. Poi sarà la volta del circuito internazionale 7 Laghi di Castelletto di Branduzzo (week end del 22 marzo), del tracciato di Muro Leccese (week end 12 aprile) e dell’evento conclusivo del 26 aprile a Sarno.

The Adria track, which made its absolute debut with the 2014 WSK Final Cup, is ready to connect innovation to tradition as it welcomes, on back to back weekends, the fi rst edition of the WSK Gold Cup and the opening event of the WSK Super Master Series, a classic. With the new one-shot trophy, WSK Promotion strives to give the world’s best drivers a new opportunity to show their skills and talent. We all know that single-round competitions allow for no mistakes. In fact, when it’s make or break, even the tiniest of glitches can compromise the fi nal outcome. This means that today we’ll be enjoying a thrilling show, as drivers strive to deliver the perfect performance.

Se da un lato quindi, c’è la tradizione della Super Master Series dall’altro c’è l’innovazione di un nuovo appuntamento marchiato WSK. Sempre ad Adria, tracciato che ha debuttato nel karting internazionale con la WSK Final Cup 2014, ci sarà la prima edizione della WSK Gold Cup. Una kermesse in gara unica che sarà capace di esaltare, ancora una volta, le capacità dei piloti iscritti. Le gare in un solo round sono quei contesti che non permettono di sbagliare nulla. Anche il più piccolo degli incidenti di percorso potrebbe, infatti, compromettere l’andamento della competizione. Concentrazione a mille e a benefi ciarne, ovviamente, sarà in primis lo spettacolo.

NICKLAS NIELSENThe latest entry of the Tony Kart Racing Team showed great speed and experience in both rounds of the WSK Champions Cup, giving his new team a great fi rst win of the season. A problem in the fi rst fi nal almost sent his hopes in smoke, but in the end the Dane secured a well-deserved success.

Nicklas Nielsen ricomincia la stagione con una bella vittoria. Il danese, passato quest’anno alla Tony Kart Racing Team, nei due round della WSK Champions Cup dimostra di essere il più esperto e il più veloce. Una vittoria, la sua, meritata, anche se un problema nella prima fi nale ha rischiato di rovinargli la festa.

LOGAN SARGEANTThe Ricky Flynn Motorsport driver won thanks to his rival’s misfortune in round 2 (Christian Lundgaard ran into trouble in the prefi nal). Yet, we owe the American credit for taking advantage of his opponent’s mishap and making a clean run to the fi nish-line.

Il pilota statunitense della Ricky Flynn Motorsport vince, soprattutto, perché il suo diretto avversario (Christian Lundgaard) è sfortunato nella decisiva prefi nale del secondo round. DENNIS HAUGERGamoto’s Norwegian driver was the steadiest driver of the Mini, no doubt. Hauger has personality and charisma and, at an age when pressure often plays bad tricks, he also proved he is more mature than his peers.

Karting has always been a contact sport. However, excessive contacts often ruin the races. This is why, as of 2015, the CIK FIA mandates all international KFJ, KF and KZ events to use a new front bumper system that tilts to the ground in case of intentional clashing. The fi rst time we saw the solution in action was at the WSK Champions Cup.

Il karting è, da sempre, un sport di contatto. I contatti eccessivi, però, spesso rovinano le gare. Per questa ragione dalla stagione 2015 la CIK FIA ha deciso di introdurre, per tutte le gare internazionali KFJ, KF e KZ, uno speciale “spoiler” che in caso di tamponamento volontario scende giù. La prima volta è andato in scena durante la WSK Champions Cup.

BRIEFS...In the past few years 16 year old driver Tom Bale has tried his hand at single-seater racing (Formula Gulf and BRDC) and discovered that karting is more fun. In 2015 he’s again “one of us”. The Wales native today lives in sunny and warm Dubai, but he never forgot how to race in the rain. In fact, his fi rst comeback race was in the KF qualifying session of the fi rst round of the Champions Cup and he took pole position. Welcome back!

Tom Bale è un pilota di 16 anni. Negli ultimi anni ha provato l’avventura nelle monoposto (Formula Gulf e BRDC Formula 4 Championship), ma ad andare in kart si diverte di più. Nella stagione 2015 è, infatti, uno dei “nostri”. È gallese, ma vive a Dubai. Il sole e il clima caldo dell’emirato gli hanno fatto scordare come si guida sotto la pioggia? Non proprio, nella prima gara del suo ritorno (in occasione del venerdì di qualifi ca della Champions Cup) piazza la pole position in KF. Bentornato.

BRIEFS... ...FROM THE WSK CHAMPIONS CUP

10 YEARS AGO

Eleven year old Luigi Coluccio is at his fi rst year of WSK racing. He debuted in round 1 of the WSK Champions Cup, claiming pole position on Friday and the main event victory on Sunday. He closed the challenge as vice-champion, earned his share of hefty credentials among rivals. By the way, the young driver was born in Maglie, a few kilometers from Muro Leccese. Finally, one who is prophet in his own land!

Luigi Coluccio, 11 anni, è alle prime gare nel karting WSK. Esordisce nel primo round della WSK Champions Cup. Sua la pole position e poi anche la vittoria fi nale. In campionato arriverà secondo e sarà comunque un bellissimo biglietto da visita nei confronti degli avversari. Il piccolo pilota, tra l’altro, è nato a Maglie a pochissimi chilometri dal circuito di Muro Leccese. Finalmente un profeta in patria!

Karting is becoming more and more a professional sport, but occasionally it still makes for moving stories like that of Marco Settimo. Marco is a privateer KFJ driver and his only support comes from his dad’s passion. Sounds like the past, but it’s the present. Incidentally, in the WSK Champions Cup he achieved a respectable result. He closed 34th out of 53 competitors, getting ahead of much more qualifi ed names.

Nel karting sempre più professionale ci sono ancora storie dal romanticismo di un tempo, come quella di Marco Settimo. Lui è un privato, corre in KFJ e viene aiutato solo dalla passione del padre. Sembra passato, invece è presente. Il risultato ottenuto nella WSK Champions Cup, non è neanche da buttare. È 34esimo su 53 iscritti, mettendo alle sue spalle nomi ben più quotati.

Karting has often seen talent pass from father to son. Back in 2006 (on February 5th, to be exact) we saw the oldest son of former F1 Ferrari driver Patrick Tambay debut at the La Conca track in the fi rst round of the WSK International Series. Adrien Tambay had a tough time (24th of 34 drivers), but the fi rst to comfort him under the tent was precisely his dad.

I fi gli d’arte, nel karting, sono sempre stati tanti. Il 5 febbraio del 2006 nel circuito de La Conca per il primo round della WSK International Series a correre c’era il primogenito di Patrick Tambay (ex pilota Ferrari di Formula 1 negli anni ‘80). Adrien Tambay non esordì nei migliori dei modi, 24esimo su 34 partecipanti. Il padre sotto la tenda fu il primo a consolarlo.

Nicklas Nilesen was born on February 6, 1997. A couple of weeks ago he turned 18, the minimum age to get a street driving license in most of Europe. Fortunately for him, he already knows how to drive quite well. In fact, he celebrated his birthday on Round 2 of the WSK Champions Cup, qualifying with the quickest time and winning Sunday’s Final race and, with it, the title trophy too. Did you say party? Happy Birthday Nick!

Nicklas Nilesen è nato il 6 febbraio 1997. Nello stesso giorno del 2015 ha compiuto 18 anni, l’età giusta per poter prendere la patente. Guidare, però, lo sa fare già bene. In quel giorno, infatti, c’era la qualifi ca del II round della WSK Champions Cup dove ha fatto il tempo più veloce. Poi la domenica è riuscito anche a vincere la fi nale conquistando la competizione. Il miglior modo per farsi un bel regalo, buon compleanno.

APRIL 9 - 12The third round of the 2015 WSK Super Master Series takes everyone back to where it all began with the WSK Champions Cup. Usually, by early April the sun is already shining over Muro Leccese and the temperatures are ideal for breathtaking duels.

Per il terzo round della WSK Super Master Series 2015 si torna dove è cominciata la stagione. Nella prima metà di aprile il sole già scalda e a Muro Leccese la temperatura è ideale per sfi de mozzafi ato.

APRIL 23 - 26Another “classic” of the WSK calendar, the Napoli circuit in Sarno hosts the 2015 Super Master Series grand fi nale. 1699 meters long, at the limit for international kart tracks, it always guarantees thrilling show.

Altro “habituè” della WSK, il circuito di Sarno è l’ultimo palcoscenico della Super Master Series 2015. Tracciato nobile, che con i suoi 1699 metri sfi ora il limite massimo per una pista dedicata al karting internazionale.

1. MATERIAL

REGULATIONS

WSK SUPER MASTER SERIES & GOLD CUPIn each event, every driver may use a maximum of two chassis of the same brand, as declared at the time of entry and in compliance with CIK-FIA Technical Regulations for KF, KF Junior and KZ2 or with the national CSAI Technical Regulations for the 60 Mini. All material will be identifi ed during inspections by the Technical Commissioner. Each driver may also use up to two engines. Like the chassis, both have to be of the model/brand declared at the time of entry and must be compliant with pertaining regulations. Each competitor is allowed to use up to 10 tires in each round (offi cial qualifying practice, eliminatory heats, Prefi nal and Final). Fuel (Kart RON102) will be distributed directly on track by the producer, PANTA SPA, in 25 liter tanks.

Per ogni prova i conduttori possono disporre massimo di due telai della stessa marca dichiarata dai concorrenti in sede di iscrizione e conformi al Regolamento Tecnico CIK-FIA per la KF, KF Junior, KZ2 e conformi al Regolamento Tecnico Nazionale CSAI per la 60 Mini. Il materiale sarà identifi cato durante le verifi che dal Commissario Tecnico. Due i motori disponibili che, come per i telai, devono essere della marca dichiarata in sede di iscrizione e conformi ai regolamenti pertinenti. Ad ogni partecipante sono concessi 10 pneumatici in ogni round (prove uffi ciali di qualifi ca, manche eliminatorie, Prefi nale e Finale). La benzina (KART RON102) sarà distribuita direttamente in pista dalla società PANTA SPA con fustini da 25 litri.

Complaints must be submitted in written form to the Race Director or a substitute offi cial, immediately following the posting of results: within 10 minutes in the case of practice, heats, or repechage races and within 30 minutes in the case of Prefi nals and Finals.

I reclami vanno presentati in forma scritta al Direttore di Gara o a un suo aggiunto, immediatamente dopo l’affi ssione dei risultati: entro 10 minuti nel caso di prove, manche di qualifi ca, o ripescaggio ed entro 30 minuti nel caso di Prefi nali e Finali.

The brand new WSK Gold Cup is a one-shot karting challenge. It thus follows the regulations that govern other competitions by WSK Promotion, except for those regarding the assignment of the title victory. As usual, the competition is open to 4 categories: Mini, KFJ, KF, and KZ2. In each class the title will go to the driver who crosses the fi nish-line fi rst in the main event (Final) which follows free practice, qualifying practice, heats and prefi nals.

La neonata WSK Gold Cup è una manifestazione di karting in gara unica. Se per alcuni tratti del regolamento, quindi, ha degli aspetti in comune con le altre competizioni marchiate WSK Promotion per quanto riguarda la vittoria fi nale questa non rispecchia, ovviamente, la stessa dinamica. Sempre 4 categorie – Mini, KFJ, KF, KZ2 – e sempre 4 vincitori. Questi, però, saranno decretati da chi taglierà il traguardo per primo nella decisiva fi nale della domenica, dopo aver disputato tutto il week end composto da prove libere, qualifi che, heat e prefi nali.

This is a special year for WSK Promotion, since it marks its 10th anniversary. Yet, if 2006 brought the fi rst race, 2015 for sure won’t bring the last. The future of this great organizational machine conceived and managed by Luca De Donno seems right behind the corner. And to celebrate these fantastic 10 years of karting, WSK will be on track throughout the season with this commemorative logo.

Questo 2015 per la WSK Promotion è un anno particolare, sono dieci infatti gli anni trascorsi in pista. Nel 2006 la prima gara, quest’anno non certo l’ultima. Il futuro, infatti, di questa vera e propria macchina organizzativa ideata e gestita da Luca De Donno, sembra dietro l’angolo. Per questi 10 anni di karting è stato, inoltre, ideato un logo commemorativo che accompagnerà gran parte della stagione sportiva del karting internazionale.
