Yesterday (C August 1931) I met the 13 American Congress men

who were refused permission to visit our leader on the Island.

It was not difficult for me to present the AIIC’5 determination

to make a success of the struggle for liberation. I indicated

that we require no external intervention in our straggle. *.re

shall liberate ourselves, and that no one will stop us, or

distract us from that road.

I presented to them what I imagined our leader would have told

them, if they had had a chance to meet him. All educational

systems in this country are unacceptable. Soth these systems,

are a deviation from the aspirations of "The Freedou Charter*’,

Both education systems are strictly a capitalist facade to in­

culcate in pupils and students all the false values that tae

colonialists/imperialists/capitalists have used for more than

300 years. A rejection of all these false values will quickly

bring us nearer liberation than all the clap trap about "blac.: .

is beautiful", and all those couthings about how black we arc.

Toat the people should know is that we arc fighting for genuine

liberation, b'e are fighting for complete poli.u:.cal rign-s in

which "the people shall govern", in which "the land shall w d o n g

to those who live in it". Adhering to "The Trecdom Charter" is

the only way in which we can mobilise the masses. Any deviation

from this, is in my humble opinion, a complete betrayal of the

struggle for liberation.
