Shores Dreams Vacation Rentals and Spokes-dog “Jazz” to Be Featured in National Pet-Travel Magazine

The Atlanta owned and Florida-based company is finding success catering to travelers who want to bring their pets

ATLANTA, GA (OCT 15, 2012) – Shore Dreams Vacation Rentals, owned by Atlanta resident and former entertainment executive Renata Circeo-Loudon, is being featured in the fall issue of national pet travel magazine, FIDOFriendly.

The company – which represents property along the Northwest Florida coast, including the Destin area – has adopted a pet-friendly policy in most of their properties, evidenced by their slogan: “Pet-friendly Travel for Pet-WELCOMING Memories.”

Shore Dreams Vacation Rentals is one of the few vacation rental companies that court pet-travelers, and its decision is paying dividends, including its upcoming feature in FIDOFriendly.

FIDOFriendly Magazine showcases FIDO-friendly destinations and scours the country for pet-travel information in order to abide by their mission: “Leave no dog behind.” They sponsor contests, conduct product reviews, have a radio program and are launching a pet-adoption tour, “Get Your Licks on Route 66” with Animal Planet’s Victoria Stillwell.

Spokes Dog, Jazz communicates his adventures through a new Facebook page: Shores Dreams Pet Adventures, where he encourages people who travel with their pets to share their pictures, stories and tips about pet travel. Jazz meets pets and their owners from all around the world and spreads the message that a family vacation isn’t complete unless the whole family gets to go – including the family pet.

Shore Dreams Vacation Rentals Owner, Circeo-Loudon has rescued animals for years and says that pet-owners are some of her best customers.

“I find that the people who travel with their pets are compassionate – they care, not only about their animals, but also about others and their property,” Circeo-Loudon said. “They know it is a privilege to be able to bring their pets with them, and they want to continue to do so. They realize that if they aren’t responsible pet travelers, then the

property owners may decide to prohibit pets. So, I find that most are ultra-conscientious about cleanliness, picking up after their pets and respecting others. They are some of my best customers.”

As a vacation rental property owner since 1999, Circeo-Loudon started Shore Dreams Vacation Rentals in 2009 and has grown the business in Florida to include the Destin, Sandestin, 30-A and Panama City areas.

A recent partnership with the online booking and reservation software, LiveRez, has allowed Circeo-Loudon to better highlight her company’s pet friendly policy, by giving her the ability to makes changes to her website content in real time, define categories and advanced search options for pet-friendly properties, and to set up extensive options for pets at the global and per property level.

This seamless website integration, and ensuing increases in search engine optimization, have resulted in a 30 percent increase in bookings in just the past year.

By targeting the pet-friendly travel niche, Shore Dreams Vacation Rentals is on the forefront of a national trend. PetTravelCenter.com states that more than 29 million people in the United States reported traveling with a pet on a trip of 50 miles or more within the past three years. Many travel-related companies are now focusing their marketing efforts toward this previously ignored – and often shunned – segment of travelers.

It has traditionally been difficult to find a hotel or vacation rental that allows travelers to bring their pets. But in the last few years, many hotel chains across the U.S. are revising and updating their pet policies to be more pet-friendly.

Some upscale properties, like the Westin in Atlanta, are going out of their way to accommodate pets. Now in its third year of hosting the upcoming BarkWorld Expo—the only social media conference for the pet industry – the Westin will even pamper pets with luxurious custom beds and other amenities.
