Winter Play: A 1940s Radio Christmas Carol Wolf Creek Players presented four performances of A 1940s Radio Christmas Carol by Walton Jones. It’s Christmas Eve 1943, and the Feddington Players are broad- casting from the anteroom of the Hotel Aberdeen in beautiful Newark, New Jersey. They are set to present their contemporary “take” on Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Whether it’s the noisy plumbing, missed cues, electrical blackouts, or the over-the-top theatrics of veteran actor but radio novice, this radio show is an entertaining excursion into the mayhem and madness of a live radio show. Featured the talents of Geneva and Ryan Basye, Chris and DeLyte Ebbers, Nancy Havran, Christie John*, Pat Karr*, Carol Lorenzen*, Mary Lynch*, Ron and Alice McGrath, John Peterson*, Jim Radatz, and Roger Roseke*. Winter Play: A 1940s Radio Christmas Carol

Wolf Creek Players presented four performances of A 1940s Radio Christmas Carol by Walton Jones.

Upcoming Spring Play: The Big Five-Oh by Brian M itchell

The Wolf Creek Players started rehearsals for the upcoming play "The Big Five-Oh," a two-act comedy written by Brian Mitchell.

Reda Charmichael and Jim Radatz are the co-directors. There are eight cast members, four of which are newcomers to Wolf Creek

Players! Zach Kennedy, Ella Wicks, and Linda Wiges are from Traer. Tyler Ingham lives near Lincoln.

This comedy features George Thomas (played by Anthony John) coming to terms with his age. Other cast members are

Alice McGrath, Jana Ryan, and Brian Winslow.

Performances will be held at the St. Joseph's Building, 101 Clark Street, Dysart. Dates and times are

Thursday May 9 at 7 pm, Friday May 10 at 7 pm, Saturday May 11 at 7 pm, and Sunday, May 12 at 2 pm. This is Mother's Day

Weekend, so plan something special for her.

Admission tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under. For information and advance tickets, call Nancy at

Annual Business Meeting:

Credit Check - While a married couple checks

out real estate in the afterlife, they argue over whether or not death is the

right time to part.

The Wolf Creek Players annual business meeting was held Sunday, February 17, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Dysart.

President Alice McGrath announced the upcoming play The Big Five-Oh, written by Brian Mitchell. There were ten people who became new cast members throughout 2012. She also thanked

the 44 people and organizations who donated to the Wolf Creek Players.

Vice President Jim Radatz told of the theater activities during 2012 which included: receipt of two grants, first newsletter

mailing, and performances. Treasurer Reta Callahan gave the financial condition of the organization in 2012.

At the end of the meeting, a few members of the organization presenteda reader’s theater, Credit Check, which was directed

by Ron McGrath (see photo). A soup supper was served.

Jana graduated from East High School in Waterloo, Iowa. She was active in marching band and jazz. She attended Upper Iowa University. Jana and

her husband Trent have four children. Jana appeared in The Curious Savage, Shock of His Life, Pumpkin Stuffers, Over the River and Through

the Woods, Sam Club, Private Eye, in the Case of the Motorcoach Murder, Sam Club, Private Eye, in the Case of the Malted Falcon, Leaving Iowa, and Credit Check. Jana's daughter Valerie has also appeared with WCP.
