Holland & Sherry is pleased to present a comprehensive new collection of luxurious denim fabrics. Popularised by Hollywood in the 1930’s, denim is as in-demand today as it was then, but has undergone a few makeovers along the way.
The collection encompasses three different qualities covering a variety of weights and a broad choice of both traditional, and contemporary colours.
Holland & Sherry offers three qualities of denim fabric with luxury appeal; all three are comfortable to wear and will retain their shape and beauty.
Constructed from a 3/1 twill whereby one white weft thread passes under three and over one indigo coloured warp threads, producing a steep contrasting twill line.
Today, these weaving principles remain the same, and it is this technique we have adopted to weave two of the qualities introduced in this collection.
Included in the collection are: An all-wool; a wool and cotton; and a wool, cotton, Lycra® quality. The first two qualities are woven in the traditional way, with a contrasting warp and weft. The third quality is a piece dye quality that has the added benefit of Lycra. Lycra provides any garment with extra comfort, makes it more durable and crease resistant, and allows it to keep its shape for longer. This collection hosts a whole range of colours, including traditional blues and contemporary greens, pinks and reds.

ITYThe InterCity suiting collection has been designed specifically for the business
environment, combining handmade quality with hardwearing practicality. This is our classic suiting line, traditionally British and heavyweight.
The cloth is woven in a stable 2/2 twill, from a 60/2 nm yarn in both warp and weft direction, giving the cloth body and fullness. These qualities offer durability and good drape, which are perfect for tailoring.
A traditional city suit comprises two main elements – the jacket and trouser, also described as a two-piece suit. The waistcoat is an optional extra for a particularly smart working environment or important meeting.
The InterCity collection offers a comprehensive range of stripes in classic navies and greys. The addition of contemporary colours, such as aubergine with a purple stripe, ensures broad appeal. The collection is completed by other woven designs including glen checks, sharkskins, birdseyes and herringbones.

At the southern-most point of Patagonia lies Cape Horn; one of the oldest and busiest trade routes in the world, and the region where this collection of fine merino wool fabrics takes its name.
Lush vegetation and clean flowing water provide the perfect nutrition for grazing merino sheep. Coupled with the clean and sustainable environment, the merino fleece is much whiter and much cleaner. The fibre itself is long and strong which helps improve the efficiency of manufacturing the fibre into finished cloth.

• A 64/2 new metric yarn with a conventional “S” twist for added softness.
• 18.5μ wool equating to a genuine Super 100’s wool quality.

An icon of Scottish textiles – tweed fabric with its rustic charm truly channels the spirit of Scotland’s rolling hills and rugged shores.
Once the uniform of nomadic shepherds and later adopted by the landowners of the majestic Scottish estates, by the 1820’s tweed’s popularity had increased and become a fashion staple for the accomplished outdoor enthusiast.
Traditional tweeds were woven by hand using locally sourced wool and dyed with berries and leaves producing a unique, insulating fabric that helped resist the elements.
Today, our tweeds possess similar characteristics to those early fabrics, however local resources are no longer suitable for today’s global market. Therefore, our journey begins in New Zealand where the mild climate, moderate rainfall and abundant sunshine create an ideal environment for some of the world’s finest non-mulesed, wool-producing sheep.
We have selected pure virgin wool, guaranteed to be the first clip from lambs born the previous year. Thriving in areas of clean water and lush vegetation, the molecular structure of the wool fibre is consistent and uncontaminated by vegetable matter, making it soft to touch and durable to wear. The wool is quite
coarse around 28μ providing the fabric with its crisp and prickly handle that typifies a true tweed fabric.
Once harvested, the wool is woven and finished in the UK in the traditional, time-honoured way.
With their unique, enchanting vibrancy, the designs in this comprehensive collection capture the essence of classic tweed whilst incorporating a contemporary colour palette. Warm and soft to touch, attractive and durable, contemporary yet traditional, this classic collection represents the ultimate tweed.

Inspired by colour, this collection of jacketing fabrics has been exclusively designed by Holland & Sherry.
Wool, alpaca and silk have been intimately blended and woven together in a 2/2 twill construction, producing a luxury collection that has a unique handle, is full bodied and has beautiful drape qualities.
Gentle, curious and domesticated – alpaca are social animals with adorable features and an animated personality. They can thrive anywhere in the world, however their native home is the Andean mountains of Peru, where our alpaca wool is sourced. Their wool is shorn every 12 to 18 months in compliance with Peruvian government guidelines and to AIA standards.
Thought to be a cross between a vicuña and a llama, alpacas are part of the camelid family. Their rare and precious fibre has a lustre comparable with silk and a soft, luxurious texture comparable to cashmere.
Alpaca fibres have many key qualities• Are light in weight and full of lustre – natural sheen.• Contain microscopic pockets of air that act as a good insulator of heat in cold
weather, but also allow the body to breathe thus keeping the body cool in warm weather.
• Contain air pockets which also reduce the overall weight of the fibre, making it less bulky than wool that is shorn from a sheep.
• Are soft, silky and luxurious to touch, making them very comfortable to wear.• Are beautiful to work with. Garments made from alpaca tailor with ease and have
magnificent drape qualities.
The cloths in this collection have been co-ordinated with a selection of coloured plains, providing the option of a city or more casual, country look.
