THESIS:

Margaret Walker’s novel “Jubilee” looks at the history of African American struggles in the era of slavery to reconstruction period. The novel teaches lessons on racism, sexism, and gender oppression. “Jubilee” looks at the importance of having a stable home that is secure and safe from harm. The story is still important and inspiring today since first published in 1966. To know where you going it is important to know your past history and learn from it. Here are some views from students and professors alike, sharing the lessons learnt after reading “Jubilee” and the affects in had on them:
