In 2002, all the pilot sites (PS’s) were designated:

• 4 border crossing points (BCP’s) and 1 inland terminal

In 2003, pilot teams (PT’s) were set up at all the PS’s

• The PT members are representatives of:

- customs,- border police, - veterinary inspection agency, and - phytosanitary inspection agency

Time measurement performed for 7 days

The project implementation team was made up of staff from the General Directorates of Customs of Serbia and the FYROM

IMPACTS1. Close cooperation between the border agencies at the

local level, particularly thanks to the local pilot teams set up in Serbia, and close cooperation with the Customs administration of the FYROM.

2. Customs has taken over the control of radiation measurement at the border from the Environmental Inspection Agency.

3. The veterinary and phytosanitary inspection agencies have taken over the control of animals and rare plants from the Environmental Inspection Agency.
