Olympic Centre VENTSPILS

The Olympic Centre «Ventspils» is one of the largest and most advanced sports complexes in Latvia fitted with accessories that meet the highest international standards. The Olympic Centre «Ventspils» is suitable for organization of high profile training camps. The Russian Basketball Club «Ural Great», hockey clubs «Dinamo» of Moscow region and «Dinamo» of Minsk, the artistic gymnastics team of Latvia, boxing teams of Norway and Ukraine and various other well known sports teams have polished their sportsmanship here. We have also accommodated international training camps of short-track and figure-skating.You are always welcome here!

Arena for basketball games

One of the main building components of the basketball hall is the large arena for basketball games with a total area of 1944m² and a stand for 3000 spectators. On weekdays the arena is divided into three separate sports halls with movable walls that can be used for trainings of basketball, volleyball, badminton, tennis and various styles of fighting sports.

Bodybuilding Hall

The bodybuilding hall of the basketball hall with a total area of 200 m² is fitted with Technogym fitness and gym equipment. The qualified and experienced gym instructors will help to design an individual training plan for you.

Medical StationThe medical station, that is located on the ground floor of the basketball hall, offers a wide range of medical treatments and diagnostics to improve and strengthen your health – physical therapy, phonophoresis applying gel with a healing effect, exercise ECG tests, intramuscular and intravenous injections, including services of a certified massage therapist and consultations by a sports medicine doctor.

Bathing ComplexVisitors are offered relaxation and recreation at the steam bath and sauna of the basketball hall’s bathing complex after an intensive working day or workout. You are welcome to relax in a Jacuzzi with underwater treatment.

Central football field and Track and field arena

The central football field and track and field arena are excellent places to hold international and national football and track and field competitions. The football field’s grass surface is heated. The athletic track and track and field sectors fully meet requirements for holding of international track and field competitions. The total area of the stadium is 7700m². There are also VIP skyboxes and skyboxes for the press besides 3200 places for spectators in the stand.

Tennis Courts

There are four tennis courts, including two with artificial turf for 300 spectators and two with hard court at the Olympic Centre «Ventspils». They accommodate trainings and competitions of all sizes.

ICE HALL

The Ice hall with a total area of 1970m² and places for 942 spectators meets requirements for training sessions and holding of international competitions in ice-hockey, figure-skating, short track and curling. The public skating-rink is open every day. You are also offered a possibility to organize all kinds of relaxation events, combining them with elements of sport on ice. There is a sauna in the Ice hall. There is a café «Ledus bārs» («The Ice Bar») on the first floor where you can follow the competitions and training sessions on the Ice hall and Track and field arena.

Track and Field Arena

The Track and Field arena, consisting of athletic tracks with corners, 60m sprint straight, sectors for high jumping, long jumping and pole vaulting, as well as sectors for discus and javelin throwing, is next to the Ice hall. Besides, there is an indoor tennis court here. The locker room of the track and field arena is designed for 240 places. The arena is planned for track and field training sessions and exercise training and also for holding of competitions. The arena is regularly used for other types of sports, for instance, indoor football games, handball, tug-of-war, weight-lifting and others. The track and field arena is ideally suitable for organizing of various thematic exhibitions and large entertainment events.

The new hall (40x25m, 300 spectator seats) is suitable for organizing of international competitions in indoor football, floorball and other types of sports.

Sports House «The Centre»

The total area of the new building excluding the engineering and utility services room measures up 2360m². The sports house distinguishes itself by several novelties when compared with other sports objects – a modern shooting room with 8 lanes where it is possible to practice shooting from a distance of 50m, 25m and 10m, an indoor rock climbing wall (the overall length of the wall for climbing – around 12m, its height – 14m), just to name a few. This construction can be seen from the building’s café and also from the roof terrace which is located on the top of the entrance hall and the café. The wall serves as a visiting card of the new sports house in Ventspils. There are a sports hall (the floor space of 36x20m) with immovable grandstands for spectators – visitors of various events, a fully equipped studio for weightlifting (the floor space of 15x9m) with no place for spectators and a café for 150 visitors in the sports house «The Centre». The design of the locker room’s section for sportsmen and sports instructors permits easy access to any sports hall. There is an equipped sports area for holding of various competitions and sectors of track-and-field athletics in the territory of the sports house. There are new parking lots for more than 100 vehicles around the building.

Ventspils Swimming-pool

The Big Swimming-poolThe swimming-pool is divided into four lanes for training sessions and competitions with the overall length of lanes – 25m and the variable depth from 1.32m to 1.78m. The trainees of Ventspils Sport School have their swimming practice here. There is a daily timetable for individual persons willing to go for a swim or visit water aerobics exercises. It is also available for organizing of swimming camps. There are swimming accessories for rent at the swimming-pool.

Complex of the Small Swimming-pool with a Bath HouseThe size of the small swimming-pool is 5 x 12.75m with the variable depth from 0.75m till 1.22m. It is equipped with a system of underwater treatment, a cascade shower with counter current and underwater lights. It is used for training of swimming beginners – babies and children of school age and classes of underwater aerobics. We are also providing special training for health improvement, training sessions for moms with their babies and pregnant women. There is a sauna and a hothouse with infrared light waves.

Bodybuilding and Aerobic StudiosThe swimming-pool complex offers a bodybuilding studio and an aerobic studio that are suitable for conducting various sport activities and activities for health improvement.

Hotel of the Olympic Centre «Ventspils»

The hotel of the Olympic Centre «Ventspils» offers well-furnished rooms in the centre of the city near the Olympic Centre «Ventspils» for sportsmen, tourists and business people. There are well-furnished double and triple rooms for 145 guests at the hotel. The rooms are fitted with TV, WC and shower units. There is a café. There is a nice parking lot next to the hotel.

Skate ParkThe skate park is located next to the Olympic Centre «Ventspils». The skate park meets the highest professional standards and it includes constructions of various degrees of complexity – a running hill, springboards, half-pipes and a wall for wall rides, a special pool and the big ramp. There is also an area for dirt jumping. There is a territory for beginners in the skate park.

There are a track of obstacles for lovers of extreme sensations and active recreation in a sportive manner, a track for down-run on innermost tires, a field for playing football and Frisbee, roads for mountain bikes and BMX bikes and a building designed for a café and a rental centre of accessories in the Adventure Park.

Aqua Park «Ventspils» www.akvaparksventspils.lvThe Aqua Park «Ventspils» is one of the most popular places of recreation and entertainment in Ventspils, besides it is located not far from the Ventspils beach of the Blue Flag. It offers three different swimming-pools, two diving towers in the height of 9m and 6m for different waterslides – standard, family and «Turbo» and also waterslides for sliding down on inflatable pool rings for active recreation. The aqua park offers recreation in Jacuzzi and sauna. There is a medical aid station, a café and a rental centre of accessories in the territory of the aqua park. If desired the complex of the aqua park «Ventspils» is also available for rent and organizing of entertainment and recreation events.
