BIFF BURTON HAS BEEN SERVING the people and wildlife of Wyoming for 39 years. He began his career with a bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Conservation and Management from the University of Wyoming in 1978. For the next five years, he worked seasonally for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department mostly in northwest Wyoming feeding elk, doing construction, habitat development, fisheries, and wildlife surveys. In 1982, he became a game warden trainee and worked out of Cheyenne, Laramie, Casper, Lander, and Green River. He also worked on the
reservoir enforcement crew in the Platte River Reservoirs. In 1983, Biff was appointed to the game warden position in Gillette. In 1989, Biff received the Shikar-Safari Wildlife Officer of the Year award. Later that year, he transferred to the game warden position in Saratoga, where he is currently stationed. Biff and his wife Lisa have three children, two of whom are pursuing careers in wildlife, fisheries, and range management in Wyoming, and the youngest is studying cosmetology and business at Eastern Wyoming College and the University of Wyoming.
