DosageEnsure that the water/cement ratio of the concrete doesnot exceed 0.55 before X-Pruf CrystalMix is added.
Use 0.2 gallons per 100lb (1.7L per 100kg) cement
at water/cement ratios of 0.45 or lower.
Use 0.3 gallons per 100lb (2.5L per 100kg) cement
at water/cement ratios of 0.45 to 0.55.
Packaging6 gallon (22.7L) jug or 240 gallon (908L) bulk container.
Laboratory Test Data
The above result was obtained from a constantworkability mix containing 500lb/yd (300 kg/m) ofType 1 Portland cement with a 0.53 water/cement ratio
mix using 3% of X-Pruf CrystalMix by weight of cement.A 6% strength increase at 28 days was also observed.Strength increases can be as high as 15% at constantwater cement ratio.
Installation GuidelinesBatchingStir X-Pruf CrystalMix prior to use to ensure that theproduct is well dispersed. Concrete should be placed nolater than 45 minutes after the addition of X-PrufCrystalMix. Use a retarder for mix designs containing
Type II/V or Type III Portland Cement.
X-Pruf CrystalMix can be added to the batching water ordirect into the concrete mixer at the batch plant or atsite.
Carrying out trial mixes under conditions to determinesetting time and strength of the concrete isrecommended. Correct mix design is essential to achievea watertight concrete.
Before application, test for compatibility with any other
admixtures to be used in the mix.
CuringCure concrete containing X-Pruf CrystalMix in accordancwith the recommendations in the latest edition of the ACManual of Concrete Practice.
StorageProtect from freezing and contamination. Shelf life inunopened, original containers is 12 months when storedunder shade at between 40 and 86F (4 to 30C).
Limitations
Concrete should be placed no later than 45 minutes aftethe addition of X-Pruf CrystalMix.The water/cement (w/c) ratio of the concrete must notexceed 0.55.Do not use at concrete temperatures below 40F (4C)
