Application Properties

Actual results in the field will vary as a result of different factors such as temperature, actual water content, curing and compaction. Grades Available

X-Roc PreMix Standard is suitable for most applications and can be finished sufficiently smooth to accept a paint finish or textured finish coat.

X-Roc PreMix Textured Finish is used only on soffit applications where a textured finish is required. Packaging Standard 50kg pack. Textured Finish 25kg bag Yield 27.5 litres per 50kg pack of Standard Yield will vary with water content. 13.9 litres per 25kg bag of Textured Finish Water Content 3.5 to 3.7litres (Standard only) per 50kg bag. Shelf Life 6 months when stored below 95°F (35°C) under shade in a dry environment. Technical Data Sheet

Micro angle plaster beads should be installed on all external corners. The substrate should be in a saturated surface dry condition prior to applying the primer coat. Priming After surface preparation has been completed the substrate should be soaked with water and not allowed to dry out. At the time of placing the plaster the substrate has to be in a saturated surface dry (SSD) condition with no free water present. If the surface is allowed to dry out prior to the application of the plaster, the bond may be reduced. Priming is not normally required unless the substrate is not sound or particularly porous. It is recommended that a trial area be prepared and pull off tests be conducted to determine whether a primer is required or not. If priming is required then prime using X-Roc BondCure or X-Roc RushCoat applied as a uniform consistent coat. Apply the plaster when the X-Roc BondCure is still tacky or next day if primed with X-Roc RushCoat. Mixing X-Roc PreMix Standard should only be mixed in full packs. Add 3.5 to 3.7litres of clean cool potable water in a clean mixing vessel of adequate size. Mix for around 3 minutes with a X-Calibur approved slow speed drill and suitable mixer. X-Roc PreMix Textured Finish is supplied ready to use but should be dispersed with a forced action mixer before use. Application The mixed material should be applied immediately after mixing is complete. Apply by hand or spray to the required thickness. Allow to partially stiffen, then finish using a trowel to achieve a uniform dense surface. Curing In most conditions X-Roc PreMix Plaster does not require curing. If temperatures rise above 35°C then the finished surface should be kept moist for minimum of 2 days. By regularly mist spraying with water, sealed with a polyethylene sheet or by the use of X-Roc PermaCure Internal. Allow surface to dry out for 24 hours after the two day moist cure. The surface is now ready to receive the specified paint systems. Limitations Do not exceed the thickness of plaster greater than shown in this method statement

Do not use in external applications Do not mix by hand Do not part mix, use only full bags. Do not apply in rain or wet conditions or at temperatures below 5oC (41oF).
