rigidity, resulting in reassuringly safe and dynamic handling, to

Short front and rear overhangs (945mm/1055mm), excellent approach anddeparture angles (28° front/24° rear) and 203mm ground clearance give the new X-TRAIL the ideal shape for an active life – whether it’s offroading or tackling tough urban terrain.

Wherever you go, you can feel properly protected inside the exceptionally strong passenger cabin. 6 airbags are standard, along with pretensioners on front seatbelts and front seat active head restraints.

Although the Nissan X-TRAIL is all about getting out and about ,

we certainly haven’t scrimped when providing interior features

to make your adventures easier and more comfortable. The

mid and high spec models now feature a Bluetooth handsfree

phone system so you can make calls safely and legally.

Most models offer a 6CD in-dash auto-charger with AM/FM

radio and Auxillary jack compatibility and offer the convenience

of steering wheel mounted audio and cruise controls.

The Intelligent Key keyless entry system on LE models,

allows the key to stay in your pocket or bag while you open

the doors and start the engine. The automatic headlights and

rain sensing wipers on SE and LE models will take care of

themselves. Rearview mirrors with reverse cameras, predictive

path technology and monitor integrated into the mirror on LE

models ensure visibility and user friendliness.

EXPAND AND ADAPT SPACIOUSThe new X-TRAIL cleverly stretches inner space within the external dimensions of a conventional family car. Expanding from 603 to 1773 litres, the trunk is the biggest in its class and easily able to take your biggest loads. It includes a unique innovation: Super Luggage, an extraordinary

versatile double deck trunk incorporating a double floor and specially designed drawer. With so many possible configurations, one of which is

sure to match whatever you need today.The more active your life, the more you seem to take with you. That’s why we’ve equipped

the new X-TRAIL’s living space with so many innovative storage places, from the huge 13.8l glovebox to multiple seatback pockets and a roof-mounted sunglasses holder. There are 5

places to hold your drinks, 2 of which can be cooled or heated.

The backseat pockets are big enough for

lots of magazines, CDs and your other

indispensable travelling items.

Rear passengers can store 2

bottles in the centre console.

At the front, the top panel box can hold

STORE IT ALL

With all the rear seats in place, there’s ample room on board for five adults and all their luggage. Plus you have the flexibility of the Super Luggage system, with its clever drawer and lifting top floor, which gives you access to more hidden storage space. The rear seat can be completely folded, creating a true flat floor more than 1700mm long.

The rear seat adapts to every situation, with its 40/20/40 split. Fold the centre armrest to accomodate long items such as a kite. With one seat and the centre armrest tucked away you can still accommodate a passenger. And if you need even more length when the back seat is folded, the cushions are removable.

ENGINE Our country awaits exploring, and the Nissan X-TRAIL offers you a choice of how to get there – you can run your adventures on either petrol or diesel. Both X-TRAIL engines offer all the power you need but, just as importantly,

achieve great fuel economy. The 2.5 litre 4 cylinder petrol engine delivers an impressive 125kW of power and

226Nm of torque, in part thanks to its Continuous Valve Timing Control System, which optimises performance. It’s

available with a 6-speed manual transmission or the incredibly smooth automatic Xtronic Continuously Variable

Transmission (CVT) with 6-speed M-Mode. The 2.0 litre turbo-diesel engine gives you 110kW of power and

320Nm of torque on both manual and automatic transmissions. Your choices are a 6-speed manual or 6-speed

automatic with M-Mode. They both offer excellent fuel economy – 6.8 litres per 100km* combined cycle for the

manual and 7.4 litres per 100km* combined cycle for the automatic.

*Actual fuel consumption will vary depending on driving conditions, driver behaviour, the condition of your vehicle

and the accessories fitted.

responsiveness and dynamism that makes ALL MODE 4x4-i such a dramatic technological advance – providing

SAFETYThe Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) compares the intention of the driver with the current behaviour of the vehicle

and selectively brakes individual wheels and controls engine power to help keep the car on its intended path and

prevent roll-over. The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Brake Assist (BA) and Electronic Brake force Distribution

(EBD) work together to help you retain control when braking, apply additional braking in an emergency situation

and optimise control by sensing the load condition of both passengers and luggage. Finally, in the event of a

collision, the X-TRAIL’s high intensity cabin structure and a total of 6 airbags, dual front, side and curtain, create a

protective cocoon to keep you and your passengers safe.

SUSTAINABILITYEnergy waste arises from engine inefficiency, drivetrain friction, aerodynamic drag, rolling friction as well as kinetic

energy lost to braking. Nissan strives to reduce this energy waste in order to reduce fuel consumption and CO2

emissions.

• A key priority is to advance engine technologies, involving the lowering of engine displacement, turbo charging

technology, and direct injection technology for a more precise and complete combustion process. X-Trail engines

combine frugality with punch, and are perfectly mated to either automatic or manual transmission. You can

be assured that the drivetrain technology in every X-TRAIL is optimized to deliver the lowest emissions and fuel

consumption possible, without compromising on capability or performance.

• In the latest model year change, tyre sizes are up, but despite the increase in rubber contact, the use of low

rolling-resistance rubber equates to an 8% reduction, or a reduction of 1.7g/km overall.

• The distinctive, vertical tail-light clusters were designed not just for high visibility and distinctive rear profiling.

The LED technology consumes less electricity lowering the load on the engine from the alternator, and therefore

reducing overall fuel consumption and emissions. Yet despite the lower power usage, the LED strips are more

clearly visible to other road users, reducing the risk of accidents from the rear.
