CONGRESS VENUE, OFFICES AND SERVICES

Almost all Congress activities, including the scientific exhibition, will take place in the Russian Academy of Administration, Prospekt Vernadskogo 84. The nearest metro station is "Yugo Zapadnaya" (see metro map in your delegate's bag ).

Congress HallsThe Plenary Hall is located in Building 1 of the Venue.All smaller meeting rooms for Sections, Round Tables and Society meetings are located in Building 2 (see meetings schedule and floor plans).The Opening Ceremony will take place on Sunday 22 August in the Plenary Hall at 10.00 a.m. Detailed information in Scientific Programme and under "Official Social Programme".The Closing Ceremony will take place on Saturday 28 August in the Plenary Hall at 10.00 a.m. See details in Scientific Programme. Working languages for opening and closing ceremonies and for all plenary meetings will be English, French, German, Russian and Spanish. Headphones and language selectors are available at the entrance to the Plenary Hall. Prior payment should.be made at the Registration Bureau.

BadgesColoured badges denoting registration status will be given to all participants and accompanying persons at check-in and should be worn at all times within the Congress Venue. Access to all scientific sessions and social events will be strictly controlled and admission will be refused to persons without badges. A fee will be charged for replacement of lost badges.

Banking ServicesBanking service will be operating for money exchange. This will be located nearby the Registration Bureau. The Bank is open from Saturday 21 August to the end of the Congress from 09.00 to 19.00 hrs.

Postal ServicesA Post Office is open at the Congress Venue (Building 2 - see floor plan). Mail and messages addressed to participants will be delivered to the Registration Bureau. Participants expecting mail and/or messages should check at the Information Desk. Messages for friends/colleagues can be left at the same desk.

CommunicationsAn International Business Centre is available at the Congress Venue (see floor plan) for long distance calls, fax, photocopying service. These services are to be paid in hard currency.

TransportationTransportation will be provided only for picking up at the airport (20/22 August) and for departures on 28 and 29 August. Eighty per cent of participants will be accommodated at the Congress Venue. All other participants staying at official Congress Hotels have direct metro lines to the Congress Venue (station Yugo Zapadnaya - last stop of line) as follows:

Refreshments and mealsCoffee, tea and snacks are sold, for Russian roubles, at the buffets available at the Academy (see floor plan).Meals are aiso served, for Russian roubles, at the self service cafeterias as indicated on the floor plan. Participants and accompanying persons NON RESIDENTS of the Academy can avail themselves of this service. Lunch is served from 12.00 to 13.00.RESIDENTS AT THE ACADEMY will receive, on registration, three coupons for each day of their stay and can be served breakfast, lunch and dinner at the two restaurants indicated on the floor plan. Travel and Accommodation DeskAir terminals are not available at the Congress Venue. Participants needing to confirm their flight and/or change their travel plans should apply to this desk for assistance.Please inform the desk in good time of your date and time of departure in order to organize transportation to the Sheremetyevo International Airport. This service will be provided for departures on 28 and 29 August. Information DeskThe Information Desk will provide general information on services available in the city of Moscow and at the Congress Venue. It will include a lost-and-found service.

First-aid ServiceA first-aid service is available at the Congress Venue (see its location on floor plan).

Gift shops and souvenirsThere are quite a number of gift shops at the Congress Venue selling both for Russian roubles and hard currency. .Cotton T-shirts with the logo of the Congress are on sale throughout the Congress in the area of the Registration Bureau.

ExhibitionAn exhibition of books, publications and encyclopedia in the field of Philosophy will be set up at the Congress Venue. Publishers will accept orders for the purchase of books/cassettes etc.A list of exhibitors is attached.

Certificates of AttendanceA Certificate of Attendance to the XIX World Congress of Philosophy will be released on request. Please apply to the Information Desk after Wednesday, 25 August.

OFFICIAL SOCIAL PROGRAMMESThe Sextet choir "The Cathedral" will perform at the opening ceremony.Participants and accompanying persons are cordially invited to a cocktail party that will take place on the evening of 22 August, 19.00 hrs, at the Congress Venue.A Congress Banquet will be offered, against payment, on the evening of 25 August on the roof restaurant of the New Praesidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences: Gagarin Square No.l. Transportation will be provided to leave the Congress Venue at 19.30 sharp. Please note: bookings for this event can be accepted until and no later than Tuesday 24 August, 12.00 hrs. '

Applications for excursions, as well as problems related to social programmes should be referred to the Social Programme desk.Accompanying persons are allowed three excursions free of charge. Accompanying Parsons and Optional Social Programmes

The Kremlin - Famous all over the world, the Moscow Kremlin, built in the 15/17 centuries, is still the main pearl of Russian architecture with its unique cathedrals, its twenty towers, and as the residence of the Russian Tzars. The point of great interest is the Armoury Chamber, built on a design by Architect Konstantin Ton in 1851. It contains the richest collection of applied and decorative arts from Russia, Eastern world and Western Europe.

Date and time: 23 and 25 August - 10.00 hrs.

The Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts - The second Museum of Russia after the Hermitage. The Building on Volkhonka Street (right next to the Institute of Man) is a former town mansion put up at the beginning of the 19th century. The Museum houses a rich collection of works by Veronese, Van Dyck, Rembrandt, Rubens, Matisse, El Greco, van Gogh, Renoir, Picasso, Rodin, and many others.

Date and time: 24 and 27 August - 10.00 hrs.

Moscow and its panoramas - This tour includes the centre of Moscow, the Red Square, the view of the city from the court of Vorobyov hills (near the Moscow University). This coach trip takes you around the Garden and Boulevard rings of Moscow and along the embankements of the Moscow river.

Date and time: 24 and 27 August - 14.30 hrs.The above dates and times apply also to participants who have already registered and paid for the’ excursions and those who wish to book on arrival. BOOKINGS AND PAYMENTS ARE ACCEPTED TWO DAYS IN ADVANCE OF EACH EXCURSION.

Novodevichy Monastery and Cemetery - Founded in 1524 by Russian Prince Vasilij the Third. The ancient architectural ensemble is famous for its museum of icons. The most outstanding writers, artists, Heads of State of Russia are buried in the cemetery of the Monastery.

Tretyakov Gallery - Founded by the famous Russian patron of arts Pavel Tretyakov, was later donated to the city of Moscow. The collection of Russian paintings represents practically all trends and periods of development in this sphere of Russian culture.Kuskovo Museum - The former estate of Counts Sheremetyevs, was built in the second half of the 18th century. The architecture of the estate is in the pure Russian classic style. The fascinating park of the estate is famous for its pavilions among which "Grotto", "Orangery", "Hermitage", "Italian", etc.There hasn't been enough interest in the above three excursions tò form groups. Persons wishing to take part in any one of them should apply on arrival at the Social Programme Desk. Confirmation will be given only if the group is sufficiently large to guarantee the minimum number required. Cost of each excursion may change according to the number of persons participating.

All day-excursions (include lunch)

Yasnaya Polyana - The former estate of one of the most famous Russian writers, Leo Tolstoy, author of worldwide known novels such as "War and Peace" and "Anna Karenina". The programme includes the visit of the Museum of Tolstoy and his tomb and the visit of the ancient Russian town Tula, motherland of Russian^ samovars and the oldest armoury plant.

Date and time: 23 August - 10.00 hrs.

Sergiyev Posad (Zagorsk) - A lovely uphill town, placed some 80 km from Moscow. It owes its development to Trinity Sergijev Monastery (Lavra) which was founded by orthodox Saint Sergji Radonejski in the middle of the 14th century. The architectural ensemble of the Monastery includes the fortress walls and towers, the Trinity Cathedral and many smaller beautiful churches. The residence of the Russian Patriarch and the Moscow Clerical Academy and Seminary are on this territory.

Date and time: 26 August - 10.00 hrs.Participants and accompanying persons wishing to take part in the above two excursions should make booking and payment at the Social Programme Desk two days in advance of each excursion. Availability cannot be guaranteed for late bookings.

Keep your customs declaration with your passport and visa at all times. Loosing such paper may cause many problems and delays at departure time. It is not allowed to take Russian roubles out of the Country.

Tipping Service charges are usually included in the bill in restaurants and bars but it is still customary to leave a tip. Tip granted is usually from 5 to 10% of total bill.

TransportLe transport sera à disposition uniquement pour l'allée (20-22 août) et le retour (28-29 août) entre l'aéroport et le lieu du Congrès. Quatrevingt pour cent des participants seront logés sur le lieu du Congrès. Tous les autres participants logés dans les hôtels officiels du Congrès, disposeront d'une ligne directe de métro jusqu'au lieu du Congrès (station Yugo Zapadnaya : station terminale de la ligne).

Les participants et les personnes accompagnantes QUI NE SONT PAS LOGES à l'Académie, peuvent disposer du même service. Le repas de midi est servi de 12h00 à 13h00.LES PERSONNES LOGES A L'ACADEMIE recevront à l'enregistrement trois coupons pour chacun des jours de leur séjour. Ils pourrront ainsi obtenir petit déjeuner, déjeuner et dîner aux restaurants indiqués sur le plan d'étages. Bureau de voyage et de logementLes compagnies aériennes ne possèdent pas de terminales sur le lieu du Congrès. Moscou et ses panoramas: Cette visite guidée comprend le centre de Moscou, la Place Rouge, la vue de la ville depuis l'esplanade de la colline Vorobyov (proche de l'Université de Moscou). Cet ancien ensemble architectural est connu pour son celebre musée d'icones. De grands écrivains, artistes et haut personnages d'Etat russes sont enterrés dans le cimitière du monastère.La Galerie Tretyakov, fondée par le célébré mécène, Pavel Tretyakov, a été léguée par la suite à la ville de Moscou. Cette collection de peintures russes présente des oeuvres de presque toutes les écoles et périodes de la culture russe.Le Musée Kuskovo, ancienne propriété du Conte Sheremetyev, il a été construit dans le seconde moitié du XVIIIème siècle. L ’architecture du bâtiment est d'un pure style classique russe. Le merveilleux parc de la propriété est célèbre pour ses pavillons, parmi lesquels "Grotto", "Orangerie", "Hermitage", "Italien", etc.Il n'y a pas eu, jusqu'à présent, suffisament d'inscriptions pour en constituer des groupes pour ces trois dernières excursions- Les pérsonnes qui désirent prendre pairt à l'une d'entre elles, devraient s'adresser au bureau du programme culturel à leur arrivée. Excursions quotidiennes (repas inclus)Yasnaya Polyana: l'ancienne propriété est celle de l'un des plus célèbres écrivains russes, Léon Tolstoy, l'auteur de romans mondialement connus, tels que "Guerre et Paix" et "Anna Karenina". Le programme comprend la visite du Musée de Tolstoy, de sa tombe et l'ancienne ville de Tula - patrie des samovars russe et de la plus ancienne fabrique d'armes.

Sergiyev Posad (Zagorsk) est une charmante ville, situee sur une9colline, à 80km de distance de Moscou. Cette ville doit son importance au monastère Sergi jev de la Trinité ( Lav^ ' *°2tv par le Saint Orthodoxe Sergij Radones ski dans la moitié du XIV siècle. L'ensemble architectural du monastère comprend les murs de la forteresse, des tours, la cathédrale de la Trinité et beaucoup d'autres belle églises plus petites, ainsi que la résidence du Patriarche Russe, de l'Academie religieuse moscovite et du Séminaire.

Das Kloster und der Friedhof von Novodevichv - Das Kloster wurde im Jahre 1524 vom russischen Prinzen Vasilij dem Dritten gegruendet. Das historische, architektonische Ensemble ist fuer sein Ikonen-Museum beruehmt. Die bedeutesten Schriftsteller, Kuenstler und Staatshaeupter Russlands sind im Friedhof des Klosters begraben.

Die Gallerie Tretyakov - Gegruendet vom beruehmten russischen Kunstmaezen Pavel Tretyakov, wurde die Gallerie spaeter der Stadt Moskau gestiftet. Die Sammlung von russischen Gemaelden stellen besonders alle Richtungen und Entwicklungsperioden der russischen Kultur in dieser Region dar.

Kuskovo Museum ~ Das ehemalige Gut der Grafen Sheremetyevs, wurde in der zweiten Haelfte des 18. Jahrhunderts erbaut. Die Architektur des Gutes ist in einem reinen russischen Klassikerstil gehalten. Der faszinierende Gutspark ist bekannt fuer seine Pavillons darunter "Grotto", "Orangerie", "Hermitage", "Italienisch", usw.

Bei den oben erwaehnten drei Ausfluegen gibt es noch nicht genug Anmeldungen um eine Gruppe zu bilden. Transporte

Habrá un servicio de autobuses desde el aeropuerto hasta los hoteles oficiales del Congreso durante los dí>s 20, 21 y 22 de Agosto para la recogida de los participantes. simismo, en los días 28 y 29 de Agosto habrá un servicio de autobuses desde los hoteles oficiales hasta el aeropuerto. El 80% de los participantes estará alojado en la Sede del Congreso. Las

Refrescos y comidasEn los buffets de la Academia se podrán encontrar café, té y otros refrescos (véase plano de plantas).Para los almuerzos se podrán utilizar las cafeterías de autoservicio (indicadas en el plano) entre 12.00 y 13.00 hor. Los participantes y los acompañantes NO ALOJADOS en laAcademia pueden aprovechar este servicio.Los congresistas ALOJADOS en la Academia, cuando se inscriban, recibirán tres cupones para cada día de su estancia que valdrán para desayunar, almorzar y cenar en los dos restaurantes señalados en el plano de plantas. Moscú y sus panoramas - La excursion comprende el centro de Moscú, la Plaza Roja y la visita de la ciudad desde las colinas de Vorobyov (cerca de la Universidad de Moscú). Monasterio y Cementerio de Novodevichy - Fundado en 1524 por el Principe ruso Vasilij III. El antiguo complejo arquitectónico es famoso por el museo de los iconos. Los más importantes escritores, artistas y Jefes de Estado Rusos están enterrados en el cementerio de este monasterio.

Sergiyev Posad (Zagorsk) - Una deliciosa ciudad en la cima de una colina, a 80 km de Moscú. Debe su desarrollo al Monasterio de Trinity Smergijev (Lavra) fundado por el Santo Ortodoxo Serqij Radonejski a mediados del siglo XIV. Практически вся работа Конгресса, включая книжную выставку, будет проходить в помещениях Российской академии управления (РАУ) при Правительстве РФ, расположенной по адресу:

Проспект Вернадского, 84. Проезд до станции метро"Юго-Западная".Пленарные заседания, симпозиумы и коллоквиумы будут про

ходить в Актовом зале 1-го корпуса РАУ. Заседания секций, круглых столов, а также заседания философских обществ и ассоциаций будут проходить в помещениях 2-го корпуса РАУ (см. "Программу?).

Церемонии официального Открытия и Закрытия работы Конгресса состоятся соответственно 22 и 28 августа в 10.00 час. в Актовомзале РАУ. '

Все мероприятия Конгресса, проходящие в Актовом зале, будут сопровождаться синхронным переводом на 5 рабочих языков Конгресса - английский, французский, немецкий, испанский и русский. Наушники для прослушивания синхронного перевода можно будут приобрести у входа в Актовый зал. Рабочий язык на заседаниях секций определяется председателем каждого из заседаний.

Обращаем внимание участников Конгресса и сопровождающих их лиц на необходимость постоянно иметь при себе плакетку, являющуюся пропуском в здания РАУ и помещения, в которых будут проходить все мероприятия Конгресса.
