A family with two children, one at North Belton Middle School and one at Sparta Elementary School, were on the Frontier Airlines flight #1143 from Cleveland to Dallas that had a passenger on it who tested positive for the Ebola virus. Once the family found this out, they notified the school voluntarily about the situation on Tuesday, who then in turn had to follow the district policies. The family notified the school district that they would be voluntarily keeping their children home for 21 days. The natural reaction to this incident would be concern or even fear – a fear that this Ebola epidemic would affect our family, friends and the people we love in our town. In addition to the danger of the Ebola virus, we may encounter other types of dangerous contagion, fear and social hysteria. Yet, lets look at our town Belton. When the city officials heard about this incident, they asked the local clergy and more than a dozen of pastors gathered in the Belton ISD office. Randy Pittenger, President of the Belton ISD Board of Trustees, along with Belton Mayor Marion Grayson, asked for a prayer from one of our pastors. All the ministers of Belton, with one heart, asked God to give us peace, hope and faith to overcome our challenge. How often do we witness the government officials asking the religious leaders to work together for common good? How often do we witness that all different denominations, regardless of the differences, pray togeth- er for the common good? I can testify that this is our town, our city, Belton. No wonder God chose us to bear this unique challenge. Spe- cial kudos to all the residents in Belton who are not fearful to face our unique challenge. Most of all I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all those who brought a letter of our spiritual support to the family as they courageously walk the path of this incident. I am sure that your words will give them peace, comfort, and especially courage to carry their cross. I hope that they will be able to join our community with full health. Lets pray for them and support them. Regardless of this difficult news, we, Christ the King parish, had a superb event last week. When I heard about the Ministry Fair, I had expected that it would be good. But I did not expect this much good. It was a visible demonstration of how active our CTK parish is! How wonderful to see that many parishioners are building the kingdom of God in our local parish through various aspects of ministries! I truly enjoyed seeing each boothof the ministries and how creative they are to promote their ministries. I would like to express my sin- cere gratitude to all the volunteers who made this Ministry Fair possible, especially, Lee Holmes, Cristin Reyes and Krissie Lastovica. I also give special kudos to all the volunteers joining new ministries. May God enrich your faith, hope and love through your new ministe- rial experience. Dear sisters and brothers in Christ:

Two weeks ago, we witnessed something unusual in our town of Belton.

Yet, let’s look at our town Belton. How often do we witness that all different denominations, regardless of the differences, pray togeth-er for the common good? I can testify that this is our town, our city, Belton. No wonder God chose us to bear this unique challenge. Spe-cial kudos to all the residents in Belton who are not fearful to face our unique challenge. Most of all I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all those who brought a letter of our spiritual support to the family as they courageously walk the path of this incident. I am sure that your words will give them peace, comfort, and especially courage to carry their cross. I hope that they will be able to join our community with full health. Let’s pray for them and support them.

Regardless of this difficult news, we, Christ the King parish, had a superb event last week. When I heard about the Ministry Fair, I had expected that it would be good.
