Now a days the engineering institutions recognize innovation as the need of the hour and the primary means of ensuring sustainable growth. We share the immense joy that the technical projects of our final year students which have been exhibited in various national and state level technical competitions, won the first prizes and cash awards. These prizes and awards are the symbols of academic brilliance and talents of our students. The learning atmosphere plays a vital role in sharpening technical skill of the students with not only regular academic activities but also continuing

education with latest need based syllabus.

Since Teaching and Research have Symbiotic and Synergistic relationship between each other, a techno-platform has been provided by Periyar Science Club(PSC) for the students to sharpen their technical skill through preparation of technical projects, paper presentations. Thanthai Periyar's dreams are becoming true through community college a fruitful scheme implemented by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), New Delhi at our Polytechnic for the purpose of inculcating technical

skill to the rural youth and to serve for society which is an instrumental for providing skilled technicians to

fulfill the requirements of industries.

Now teaching and learning process moves towards ICT based education, a modern method to motivate the students community. Indeed A- view class which is an outcome of the latest technology plays a vital role in sharing the expertise of the faculty members with other institutions.

Our 34th Annual Day Celebration took us to the memories of first Annual Day Celebration with the Chief Guest Dr. D.Sundaresan IAS(Retd.,), who honoured both celebrations by his valuable presence.

The Pongal function was celebrated in a grand manner at our polytechnic college with the active participation of all staff members and students of our college. The celebration of Pongal has sown the seeds of social togetherness, team work, social harmony among the faculty and the students.

We have to appreciate the Entrepreneurship Management Development Programme (EMDP) Cell

sponsored by the All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE), New Delhi with which our students

are motivated to develop their knowledge and entrepreneurial skill. The association with BHEL,

Tiruchirappalli has paved a way for sharing the expertise. Our staff members gave guest lecturers on various technical programmes and Life skill development programmes to the employees of BHEL, Tiruchirappalli through Institution of Engineers-IE(I) Chapter. We should use the experiences of the past in experiments of the present to achieve the future expectations. Let our education and efforts be a tool for social transformation.

Ø Technical projects done by the students of all

departments were exhibited. The field experts are

invited to evaluate the projects and select the best

three projects.

Ø A cash prize of Rs.1,000/-, Rs.750/- and Rs.500/-

are awarded to the I, II & III, Special prize winners

in the name of “Palai N. Shanmugham-

Maragathavalli” fellowship. Department wise

Rs.300/- is given as consolation prizes.

Ø Our Chairperson appreciated the Mechanical

Engineering Students for receiving Rs.25000/-
