    1.0 GENERAL

    Ansaldo Caldaie Boilers India Pvt Ltd. (ACB) is presently executing a 1 x 320 TPH Utility Boilerpackage for OPG power generation (P) Ltd. Complex at Ennore, India.

    ACB scope includes the following packages, Utility Boiler Package

    The document covers the minimum requirements, extension and limits to be considered for design,manufacture, testing, certification, marking, packing for transportation and documentation for the

    supply of twelve nos. (14) Variable Spring Hangers and five nos. (5) Rigid hangers for the utility boilerfiring.

    Scope of supply indicated in this specification is bare minimum, vendor to supply that essentialcomponents/equipment required for the safe & continuous operation of the Boiler.

    The supplied components shall be strictly in accordance with this specification and the relevantattachments. Any deviation or clarification will be specifically listed at the proposal time to obtainAnsaldo acceptance. In the absence of any such list, it will be considered that the scope of work shallbe in full compliance with all the requirements stated in this document and relevant attachments.

    The scope of supply shall also comprise those parts that are required for the proper function and safeoperation of the plant according to the latest state of the art, even if these parts are not explicitly

    mentioned. Should it become apparent that a proper operation is not possible, because parts aremissing within the boundaries of supply, which were not explicitly excluded from the scope of supply,or any delivered parts are unsuitable, Supplier shall undertake to deliver, replace and assemble theseparts subsequently free of charge.

    The International (SI) system of units shall be used for design, drawings, diagrams, instruments scale,etc. The Supplier shall ensure that the engineering, design, construction, testing, etc of all componentsincluded in the scope of supply are according to internationally recognized standard and codes in theirlatest edition and to the statutory regulations and regulatory provisions valid at the site of the plant.

    Refer to Section ATTACHMENT for relevant Clients specifications applicable to this document. Incase of discrepancy, these requirements take precedence over Ansaldo Caldaie technicalrequirements.

    The offer will not be evaluated without the following documents, Hanger Data sheet Spring drawings with dimensions Deviation and clarification list

    The Vendor shall be fully responsible for the quality and satisfactory performance of the componentssupplied, which shall fully comply with the requirement of the Contract / Drawings / Specifications /QCPs. In case of discrepancy the vendor shall proceed with the necessary rectifications at his ownexpenses.

    2.0 SCOPE OF SUPPLY

    Each of the Spring Hanger units shall consist of:

    o Complete assembly items including bolts and nuts for upper and lower components.o Each assembly of spring hanger, rod hanger, and miscellaneous support shall be completely

    assembled and packaged as an individual item.o Any accessories required for safe and reliable operation of the system to be includedo Painting and surface protectiono Mandatory spareso Erection spares

    3.0 SCOPE OF SERVICE

    The Scope of service consisting of engineering, supply & services shall include:

    Basic & detail drawings Erection & Shipping drawings Purchase specifications, if any Procurement follow-up Equipment supply Quality control activities Inspection and testing activities Documentation and certification Supervision of Performance testing of equipments

    4.0 CODES & STANDARDS

    The supply will be in accordance with all the applicable laws and codes. Spring Hangers shall bedesigned, manufactured and tested in accordance with this specification, the latest applicable sections

    of the ASME B 31.1 Code for pressure piping including the MSS Standard Practice SP-58/ SP-89and / or BS 3974 and the applicable codes and standard defined in Clients specifications.

    Contract specification: All applicable contract specifications

    Quality control plan (QCP)They will be implemented on the basis of ACB inputs and according to the contract requirements andsubsequently subjected to ACs approval.

    5.0 DESIGN DESCRIPTION:

    Equipment shall be designed and constructed for a service life of 20 years and at least two years of

    uninterrupted continuous full-load operation at the specified operating conditions.

    Support Hangers and the relative parts shall be according to the latest edition of ASME B 31.1 Codefor Pressure piping.The support working condition concerning the hot and cold positions as mentioned in data sheet,shall be according to the above standards.

    All support hangers shall guarantee a complete safety of operation, in particular they shall allow thepiping position adjustment in site and have to be assembled using the normal site resources.

    All supports Hangers shall be constructed and assembled that the pipe shifting dont cause anydisconnection.

    The Variable load spring Hangers shall have the travel/ load indicator and the cold/hot positionsindication.

    Each Variable load support Hanger shall be pre-setted in the shop at the cold position and shall havethe possibility of locking for assembling and hydraulic test in site.

    Rod length must be such to allow a 100 mm regulation.

    Material of clamps and bolts near the pipe shall be same or equivalent to pipe material.

    Spring shall be selected provision for field load adjustment of at least 15%.

    6.0 GUARANTEES

    The Supplier shall state in his offer that the proposed equipment comply with all the requirementsstated in the present specification and the Attachment/Annex.

    It is intended that all guarantees be meet with the equipment installed in the field.

    7.0 INSPECTION & TESTING

    Testing of springs shall be as per BS 1726, the Suppliers inspection methods and timing sequenceshall be shown on the Inspection Test Plan, to be submitted with the proposal, for ANSALDOreview/comments.

    The Suppliers standard inspections shall comply with all applicable code requirements and willinclude, as a minimum, the examination of material certificates, dimensional checks on parts and sub-assemblies with examination by visual or other methods of welds and material surfaces, etc.

    Acceptance tests of the springsA) All springs used in the supports construction shall be subjected to the following tests:

    1. Rapid full compression testing.

    The testing consists in repeatedly subjecting the spring to a rapidly applied load such as tocause all the coils to contact each other.

    2. Full compression endurance testing.The testing consists in leaving the springs with all their coils in contact with each other. Thetime required for the testing shall be included in the Manufacturer procedure of Par 8.

    3. Magnetic particle examination extended to the whole surface of the spring.The examination shall be performed after the execution of the above full compression

    testing.

    4. Average spring rate checking with in the range of the working travels of the springs.

    Acceptance tests of the supportsB) For the same type of support, the following testing shall be performed with the extention

    equal to 10% of the whole supply (with a minimum of one for each type):

    5. Operating testing carried out on a suitable testing machine consisting in the remark of theloads in relation with the travels.

    6. Static load testing:The testing shall be the same as the maximum loads to which the hangers can be temporarilysubjected.

    7. All turn buckle and lug weld joints shall be subjected to visual and magnetic particle

    examinations. The operating and static load testing of Para 5. and Para 6 shall be performed on thewhole assembled support. Otherwise, in addition to the above visual and magnetic particleexaminations, weld joints shall be subjected to a volumetric examination (RX or UT) or a tension test.

    8. The examination and tests required in the above Para. A and Para. B shall be performedin accordance with a Manufacturer Quality procedure to be sent to A.C for information only.

    8.0 PAINTING, PRESERVATION & PACKING

    The protections to be applied shall be in accordance with the applicable standards and contracttechnical specifications. The vendor shall submit to AC for approval, the preservation / painting

    procedures.

    Vendor shall include surface preparation and painting of materials / equipment in the workshop.Paints and application processes shall comply with contract specification requirements. The vendor tosupply necessary paints and thinner for touch-up of workshop painting.

    Please refer ATTACHMENTS for painting specification.

    All materials shall be adequately marked before the dispatch indicating order number, drawingnumber, part number and name of component.

    In any case the supplier will be responsible of proper and good packing of materials and parts, whichhave to be protected against any damage, which may affect them.

    The List of Technical Documentation also shows the detailed documentation requirements and

    submission programme following the issue of the Purchase Order.

    Anyway, the Supplier is requested to submit its own Supplier Document Schedule in order to have a

    complete list of the document that will be issued after the Purchase Order.

    It is accepted that the information provided may be in the Suppliers format. Where this is the case it is

    essential that the first issue of the Supplier Document Schedule indicates where each of the items

    required by the List of Technical Documentation can be located in the Suppliers submission.

    The Supplier should recognize that the Purchaser shall only undertake a nominal review of Suppliers

    documents.

    The main purpose of these documents is to provide information for:

    a) The Purchasers project partners to enable other work to proceed

    b) Erection purposes

    c) Preparation of O & M and other manuals

    d) Addressing the needs of the Client

    Whilst the Purchaser shall endeavor to identify any errors in the documents and notify the Supplieraccordingly, the responsibility for detailed reviewing/checking of documents resides with the Supplier.

    Soft copies (electronic files) shall be:

    Text in Word (.DOC) for Windows

    Schedules in Microsoft Access or Excel (.XLS)

    Drawings in AUTOCAD R2000 (.DWG) files

    Certificates in ACROBAT READER

    Note: Electronic files could be sent via e-mail (not exceeding 4 MB size); otherwise optic support (CD)

    has to be used.

    All supporting information, e.g. drawings, test curves, parts lists etc. shall be legible, especially graphs

    or drawings reduced in size.

    The drawings and documents shall be written in English language.

    The project title block shall be adopted. The Supplier logo and relevant additional title block (if any)

    shall be mutually agreed in position and dimension.

    The project numbering will be informed by the Purchaser.

    Multi-pages documents are allowed just for A4 and A3 forms.The following list gives also an indication of documents required during the order stage.

    Any other data & drawings not specifically listed below but required for detailed engineering shall be

    furnished by the vendor.
