In its 100 years of faithfulness, Church of the Open Door has sent more than 300 missionaries to serve in 50 countries. Dr. Clyde Cook (1937—2009), who was president of Biola for 25 years and a former COD missionary once said that the sun never sets on the ministry of Church of the Open Door. Over 16 mission organiza- tions can trace their roots directly or indirectly to COD including: Released Time Christian Education, Singapore Bible College (Ernie Poulson), Orinoco River Mission (now part of TEAM), Navigators (Dawson Trotman, founder, was a member of COD from 1948 until his death in 1956), OC International (Dick Hillis), Gospel Recordings (Joy Ridderhof), and perhaps the most well-known, Wycliffe Bible Trans- lators (Cameron Townsend). The missionary map in the downtown auditorium was a constant reminder to Biola students and church members that sending disciplemakers around the world was an imperative for Church of the Open Door. In 2015 disciplemaking worldwide is still at the top of our list of priorities. His Alone His Alone is our ministry to women who find them- selves coming to church alone. Judy Underwood shepherds this group of single, divorced, widowed and spiritually single women. They meet on Sunday morning at 9:00AM in U30 on the upper campus near the flagpole. They’ll be on the back porch this morning with some goodies. If you’re interested or have questions, stop by after the service and talk to Judy, Darla, Lee Ann or any of the other ladies. We welcome Dr. Mark Bailey as our speaker today. Dr. Bailey is not only presi- dent of Dallas Seminary, but a good friend of Church of the Open Door.
