• Previously, yachts planning to sail to Bintan, the Riau Islands or beyond to anywhere in Indonesia
had to call at Nongsa Point, Batam for clearance of necessary permits.
• As of 2012, under the Regulation of President No.79/2011 all local and international yachts are
allowed to sail directly to Bandar Bentan Telani (BBT) - Bintan Resorts and have their
immigration and custom processing done at BBT.
• Green Book and Sailing Permit (CAIT) are no longer required as stipulated in Presidential
Decree No 105/2015 that allows yachts entering Indonesia directly. Temporary Import Permit is
also no longer required.
Background
• As of August 2015, Bintan Resorts has installed marina pontoons, suitable for private yachts up to
25metres in length and draft up to 3metres at Bandar Bentan Telani Terminal.
• There are a total of 14 berths at this facility located at Latitude 01009’5’ North, Longitude 104021’5’
East.
• Both short-term and long-term berthing is available at this facility.
• Electrical and water hook-ups are available at the berths.

Sailing Procedure
Boaters intending to sail into Bintan must fulfill the following:
• Forward the following documents to BBT by email:.
� Crew list
� Passenger list
� List of goods on board
� Sailing Plan (where the yacht will sail to and when)
� Yacht Registration Certificate copy
� Yacht Insurance Certificate copy
� Size of vessel
• In Bintan the appointed local agent is as follows :

• Complete and submit the following documents upon arrival at BBT:
• Vessel Declaration and Cruising Declaration Form

•Last Port Clearance from your port authority

• Boats can remain in Indonesian waters for up to a maximum of 3 years.
• Boats with draft 3.5 meters and below can berth at BBT for CIQP
clearance.
• Boats with draft more than 3.5 meters can anchor at Latitude 01010.5’ North, Longitude 104018.5’ East, and thereafter come ashore for CIQP clearance.
• BBT operates from 0800 hrs to 2000 hrs. However for smoother clearance, it is advised that boats arrive during daylight hours.
• BBT can be contacted prior to arrival at VHF Channel 14 at 156.700Mhz.

• As per Ministerial Order (Peraturan Menteri Perhubungan) No. 171 Year
2015 it is compulsory for all yachts to have Radio Communication and AIS (Automatic Identification System) installed in the vessel.
