Dates July – November 2012Occupation or position held Performance Director for Peugeot in the Automobile Trade Show in São Paulo.

Main activities and responsibilities I was invited to act as Project Director for the Peugeot dance show at South America’s largest automobile trade show in São Paulo, Brazil. “Let Your Body Drive” was the theme, and the show debuted an innovative mix of hip-hop and technology. My role was to conceptualize the show, hire the performers, and perform in it. In total there were 90 presentations in 14 days.

Main activities and responsibilities Spent one month in Darien rain forest documenting the music of Emberá and Cuna people. The intern had to live in the forest and learn about the different aspects of the ecology and cultures surrounding him. Intern recorded, transcribed and documented all the different songs of Emberá and Cuna people. Work reviewd by Panama’s Director of Education.

The program entails a full year of organized courses, including theoretical, methodological and laboratory-based work. Roughly in the middle of the second year, students present their dissertation research ideas, with the intention of spending their remaining two years working on their original research. Students seek co-supervisors from among the UT Austin faculty, and they may spend a fellowship year in Austin. UT faculty contribute several courses each semester both by co-teaching and by offering stand-alone classes.
