INTRODUCING YOUR 2016 YAKIMA VALLEY PIPPINS

Marcus McKimmy enters his third season with the Pippins with expanded duties for the club. In addition to continuing his field manager role in 2016, McKimmy now wears the title of assistant general manager/director of baseball operations for the Pippins. Along with his recruiting responsibilities, McKimmy’s off-season role includes sponsorship and ticket sales and community outreach.Before joining the Pippins front office, McKimmy served as the head coach at Yakima Valley Community College for three years. McKimmy joined the Yaks coaching staff in the fall of 2009 after one year as an undergraduate assistant coach for Gonzaga University. He also helped coach the Yakima Valley Pepsi Pak American Legion baseball team for two summers (2009-2010).

Bob Wells enters his third season as Pippins pitching coach after a major league career that saw stops in Minnesota, Philadephia and Seattle. Over a nine-year career as a reliever, he collected a 40-28 record with 5.03 ERA while also strking out 417 batters. He was in the bullpen for the the 1995 Mariners, who beat New York in the ALDS before losing to

Cleveland in the ALCS. He prepped at Eisenhower High School in Yakima. Wells currently resides in Naches, Wash.

Bob Wells (Pitching Coach) - No. 49

Eric Hull is in his second year with the Pippins coaching staff here in the 2016 West Coast League season. Hull has

worked alongside Pippins manager Marcus McKimmy as an assistant coach at Yakima Valley Community College, main-

ly focusing on pitching. He will mainly work with Pippins pitchers, but will also be available to contribute to other

aspects of the team this summer in his second season.

Jaime Cortes enters his first year as a Pippins assistant coach in 2016. Cortes, a Toppenish High School graduate who played college baseball at Yakima Valley Community College and Lewis-Clark State College and is currently the direc-tor of advising at Heritage University in Toppenish. After graduating from Top-Hi in 1998, Cortes played one summer for the Yakima Beetles, then two years at YVCC under coach Bob Garretson Jr. He walked on at LCSC in 2002 and played for

coach Ed Cheff, and started his coaching career there as a student assistant.
