Stage 2 PE- Olympics at Home!

The Tokyo 2020 closing ceremony was last night but the fun doesn’t have to stop there. Find

a clear, safe space to exercise inside or outside.

Warm up: Grab a small soft toy. Something that won’t hurt if you land on it. Place it next to you and spend 30 seconds jumping over it, from side to side. Rest for 30 seconds. Now stand behind your toy and jump forward over it and back again for 30 seconds.

Olympic Events

Basketball

Find any ball at home that is a sphere and bounces.

- Bounce it for 30 seconds.

- Now, bounce it swapping hands on each bounce

- Next, bounce it from one hand to the other, across your body

- Lastly, travel with it, walking around (make sure the space is clear).

Running

Do some laps of your backyard. If you are inside, jog on the spot. Imagine your friends and

family are watching you compete, wave to them!

Gymnastics

Prove you have the balance needed to be a gold medal gymnast. Find a book, not too heavy

and not too precious because it will get dropped.

Place it on your head and see how far you can walk balancing it on your head. Return to the

same starting place each time it falls from your head.

Try going further each time. Once you can get quite far, try going faster each time!

Shotput

Find a small ball (tennis ball or handball) or use a balled-

up pair of socks. Remember in Term 2 how your teacher

taught you how to stand and throw your shotput and

check the picture. Use some small toys to mark where the

ball lands. Try to get further each time.

Cool down

Jog on the spot, nice and slow.

Now do some stretches that you know, to take care of your muscles.

Personal Development

Head back yo your workspace and start your PDH work as written on your unit of work.

Week 5 Year 3 Library Activity – Storyboards

There is a lot planning done before you start making a film. Just like when youare reading a book, it needs to be a good story! One of the most importantsteps in film making is creating a Storyboard.

Task One:

Watch this video where the makers of theToy Story movie explain their Storyboard.

https://bit.ly/3lteEkR

Task Two:

● Using a picture book you have OR go onto StoryBox Library, pick a picturebook to read or watch

https://storyboxlibrary.com.au/

Username: Rozelle PS LibraryPassword: Library

● Think about the story………

● Who are the main characters?● Where is the story set?● What happens to the characters in the story?● How does the story end?

C:\Users\carol\Desktop\Week 5 Year 3 Library Activity.docx

● Create your own storyboard for this book using the Storyboard templateattached. You can use stick figures! This is about retelling a story not anart activity!

● Upload your storyboard to your Google Classroom
