PRINCIPAL’S REPORT

We are proud of… OUR STUDENTS OF THE WEEK Reece and Bryce Urquhart, Jett Carter, Rudi Schwartz, Beau Scott, Isabellea Taylor and Lillee Bullock are our students of the week. Reece and Bryce are congratulated for being great environmental ambassadors, Beau for his organisation and behaviour at camp, Jett for helping to keep our school clean, Isabella and Lillee for their supportive leadership of others at camp and Rudi for his peer tutoring of a Stage 1 student. STUDENTS COMPLETING MINILIT & READING RECOVERY

Congratulations to Kyra and Bonnie for successfully completing Reading Recovery and to William, Brody and Jack for their completion of MiniLit. OUR ASSEMBLY AND PLAYGROUND AWARD WINNERS

Aliyah Fox is congratulated for leaving our school safely and Nikki Browne (absent) for great listening during assembly times. They both received a prize to thank them.

PRINCIPALS RECOGNITION I thank Mrs Cross, Mrs Shaw, Miss Anderson, Mr and Mrs Urquhart, Mr Vallis and Mr Klavins for their support of our Year 4 children while on their Sydney excursion. It’s a really rewarding experience to take children away for 3 days but a huge responsibility. I thank those members of staff and our parent volunteers who gave their time to ensure our children had a great time and remained safe throughout their time away! I also thank staff, students and parents for a fantastic year. While it’s been ‘flat out’, our children have achieved so much in so many different arenas. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and New Year and I look forward to working with you and your children in 2017. Have a very merry Christmas and New Year

Working together as partners in the

education of your child.

STUDENTS LEADING THE WAY LIBRARY NEWS

Another successful year has concluded in the RPS library! Thank you to all those wonderful parent helpers who gave up their own time to cover books and help with ‘little’ jobs. Without them, the library would not run nearly as smoothly. A huge congratulations to all those students who received reward books this year. It is wonderful to see children so keen to borrow and read. Congratulations also go to 1/2S who have all returned their books and will enjoy ice-blocks this week at lunch time to thank them. Unfortunately 2016 has been the poorest year in relation to book loss. Our percentage loss is usually 2%. This year it has increased to 20%! Although some parents have paid for books, many bills remain outstanding. This equates to a loss of approximately 100 books. It saddens me to say, but students who continually lose books will have borrowing privileges restricted as per our RPS Library Policy. Enjoy your break and please encourage your children to read lots. Nichole Wade Teacher Librarian
