Email your line to me at [email protected] and follow the school’s @Sjb_Reads account on Twitter. Let’s see if you can guess the book the other quotations come from.

2. For this task you will need to select a passage (approximately half a page long) from your current book, that you think is highly descriptive or atmospheric.

- Take a screen shot or photograph of it so that you can annotate it. Highlight and label with meaning the words that you think build atmosphere and mood in the passage.

- Now try to rewrite the passage using antonyms (opposite/ different meaning words) to help you change the atmosphere/ mood into a different one.

Year 9 ART Home LearningTasks: 1. Look at the answer sheets to self assess the

‘Think Harder' that you completed before Easter. • Optical illusion photography is an impression of a

visible object / person etc. that is not appropriate to reality.

• This makes us take a closer look at the photograph and work out how it is put together (usually using perspective).

2. Take a photograph using the idea of illusion to create a different scenario. (More examples by Miss Kitching on Showbie)

• Upload your photograph to Year 9 Art Home Learning - Portfolio.

3. Check out on Showbie the Art competitions online and enter one. There are 3 competitions to enter.

Year 9 Music Home Learning• Create an information leaflet on Minimalism. This task will be split

over this week and next week. • Minimalism is a genre of music, which originated in 1950s and

was heavily inspired by the movement of the same name in Art. Minimalism is a type of 20th Century classical music. Classical music before minimalism started was often chaotic and complex. Minimalism sought to be simpler and take small ideas to create a large piece of Music.

• This week, research and include the following information:– History and development of minimalism – What techniques are used to compose minimalist music?

Please choose ONE of the following tasks to complete.

Option 1Practical task:Re-create a scene from your favourite movie/TV show/theatre production. Be creative! Get family members involved if they’re up for it, set up your home and use costume if you can! You can do this just using your video camera, iMovie, or another app of your choice.

Option 2:Write an alternative ending to a movie/TV series/theatre production of your choice. Write it in the style of a script. It doesn’t have to be long- one to two pages is fine, but it must be different to how the show actually ends.
