YEAR AT A GLANCE

OVER THE PAST YEAR, Canadore College has been actively making a difference in the lives of our students, staff, and faculty.

Over 300 students are assisted by donor supported awards and bursaries annually and to date we have awarded $203,065 to students strictly from donations. The overall accomplishments of Canadore would not have been possible without your unwavering devotion and commitment, and for that we could not be more grateful.

We are reaching out to you today to provide you with College updates and stories. It has truly been a year of growth and development for the College and we are excited to announce all the great things we have accomplished.

CANADORE COLLEGE FLYING HIGH WITH DONATION FROM KF AEROSPACE

Canadore College formally accepted the donation of a Boeing 727-200 aircraft from KF Aerospace late last year.

“This is the first heavy aircraft of its kind here at Canadore College,” said George Burton, President and CEO of Canadore College. “This heavy aircraft is in serviceable condition, giving our students a remarkable opportunity to work on a training aid that functions as it would in service.”

The aircraft was recently appraised at a value of $795,000 and Canadore College created a purpose-built parking pad adjacent to its hangar for permanent placement of the training aid.

A LOOK AT WHAT’S TO COME

ME TO WE

Canadore College and Canadore Students’ Council have paired with the global innovation social enterprise ME to WE to offer students and employees a dynamic leadership program, building community through leadership. The program, to be delivered at Canadore, will help participants improve leadership skills, learn about social issues, develop a deeper understanding of Indigenous Communities and gain confidence to engage peers in leadership activities.

The leadership program entails eight days of intensive program delivery facilitated by ME to WE staff and translates into student action plans to be carried out on campus and in community. The initial program has been offered to students at Canadore this fall.

THE VILLAGE FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN

Canadore College has begun building a unique multigenerational academic and living facility on campus. The facility will be the first of its kind in Canada. The innovative educational community will integrate Indigenous, Eastern, Western healing and wellness practices by carrying out class-leading interprofessional education.
