Choose five animals to create a new group of five,

e.g. The Loud Five, The Fluffy Five. Draw your five

animals together. Think about your group.

Thursday – The Ugly Five – Look on the internet and see what you can find out about the Shy Five. Friday –Party time! Invite someone from your family!

RE – Can you write a prayer to say thank you to God for something special in your life? You may also like to ask God to help you with something you find difficult or challenging. Science – Omnivores, herbivores, carnivores – A long time ago, we looked at meat eaters and plant eaters and animals that eat both. Can you remember which s which? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BWC4sxt0vU Can you sort and draw some animals that fit into each group? You could look at the animals in the Ugly Five story and sort them into groups. Geography – Choose a wild animal from the mat. Research the habitat is which they life and create your own cereal box/shoe box habitat for that animal. Art – Follow the instructions below to create your own ‘milk carton elephant’. PE - Take part in ‘The Daily Mile’ every day this week. For

DT – Use the jigsaw template below to create your own

animal jigsaw puzzle. Decorate the jigsaw with a picture of

your favourite animal then cut along to lines to create your

jigsaw.

Music – Think about how the different animals move. Could

you try to recreate these movements? Could you put together

a dance or a performance to show these movements?

Monday – Looking at clocks Go on a ‘clock hunt’ around your house. How many different types of clock can you find? What is the

same about the clocks? What is different? Have a closer look at an (analogue) clock face like the one

below.

What happens as the clock ticks? Have a go at drawing or making your own clock face. You may like to use this video clip to help you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLD9I5rzVQU Tuesday – O’clock times The clock face shows an o’clock time when the big hand (minute hand) points to the 12 and the little hand (hour hand) points to a number. This little hand tells us which o’clock time it is (11 o’clock, 3 o’clock, etc.) Begin to spot when a clock in your home shows an o’clock time. Some clocks make a special chiming sound when it is an o’clock time! Talk with an adult about what you do at different times of the day. E.g. At 12 o’clock we eat our lunch. Wednesday – O’clock times What times can you see on these clock faces?

Thursday – Half past times

The clock face shows a half past time when the big hand (minute hand) points to the 6 and the little hand (hour hand) is in between two numbers. This little hand tells us which half past time it is. Begin to spot when a clock in your home shows a half past times. Spend time with an adult trying to spot half past times on the clocks in your home. Friday – Party time! Choose which time you would like your party to start at. Write this time on your invitation and make sure to keep checking the clock ready for your party starting. You don’t want to be late!

Monday – Can you use today’s spellings in a sentence? Tuesday – Monkey Puzzle –https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgeKHjLSQUM Choose a wild animal – like a snake and draw a picture of the animal you have chosen with as much detail as possible. Then write a description of your animal using as many adjectives as you can (An adjective is a word that describes a noun). E.g. The long slippery snake slithers along the forest floor. heard of before! Which 5 animals would you choose to have in your own group of 5? What would you

call your group, e.g. The Loud Five, The Fluffy Five? Can you draw a picture of the 5 animals you have

chosen in your group? You could look on the internet to see which animals you would choose.

At first, I wasn’t keen that they called the animals ‘ugly’. Could describe the best parts of these animals – being pretty isn’t everything! The Ugly Five were really kind and caring animals and ended up being called the Lovely Five. That is what is most important! Thursday – Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Buffalo and Elephant are known as ‘The Big Five’ – which is your favourite? The Shy Five are – Buffalo weaver, Leopard Tortoise, Ant Lion, Rhinoceros Beetle and Elephant Shrew – can you search them on the internet and find out some information about them? Why do you think they are called The Shy Five? These are all very small animals, but are still very important! Friday – Can you have a tea party with sandwiches and cake to celebrate the Summer holidays! We all hope you are well and look forward to seeing you all again in September! You could make a little invitation for members of your family.
